SSIA Dolan gave a 'put up or shut up' one-year audition for Isiah to keep his job, and the Knicks have opened up 5-11, good for last in a sorry division where Boston leads with a losing record. Knicks have beaten Memphis (1 pt), Denver (2 pt), Washington (20), Miami (24), and Boston (23); these teams have a combined 28-40 record. Isiah song the praises of a Francis/Starbury backcourt until the season opened, where they've so far averaged a combined 21 pts/game. Jamal Crawford leads the team with a sub-17 point scoring average which is nearly identical to their average number of turnovers per game (16.6 to his 16.8). Seeing as I believe James Dolan took away Isiah's GM keys for fear of desperation trades, when does he fire Thomas? Evan
I know.. this is really bad.. i really dont like the fact that Western Conference is MUCH better than the eastern conference: Spoiler Eastern W L Orlando 11 4 Cleveland 9 5 Boston 5 8 Detroit 9 5 Indiana 8 7 Miami 6 8 Atlanta 5 7 Chicago 5 9 New Jersey 5 9 Toronto 5 9 Washington 5 9 Milwaukee 5 9 Philadelphia 5 9 New York 5 11 Charlotte 4 10 Spoiler Western Conference Western W L Utah 12 3 San Antonio 11 4 L.A. Lakers 9 5 Houston 10 4 Dallas 10 4 Sacramento 8 5 Denver 8 5 Golden State 9 6 Phoenix 7 6 New Orleans 8 7 L.A. Clippers 6 7 Minnesota 6 8 Seattle 6 9 Portland 6 10 Memphis 4 10 there are 3 teams under .500 that are in the playoffs right now in the Eastern Conference.. the gap between the the conferences is really huge right now.. I think NBA should do something about that (rearrange teams, decrease the games played against the other conference)
Dolan said he would give Thomas the whole season to prove him self. Weather that be 82-0 or 0-82 I think he really ment it.
Knicks have had a pretty tough strength of schedule haven't they and from the games played disparity between the Celtics compared to the Knicks, it seems like they've played more back to backs. While I don't think the Knicks are a very good team, I think a lot of teams would have a hard time winning with the schedule they've had. Didn't they have to go through Texas roadtrip already in facing SA, Dallas, and the Rockets twice? Also New Orleans who are a pretty good team this year as well. Honestly I expect the Knicks to do better when their opponents get weaker similar to how the Lakers got off to such a great start by facing weaker opponents.
They are a tough team to match up with/. Channing Frye, David Lee, and Jamal Crawford are all very talented. This team is not that far from being pretty good.
The Knicks are an entire starting lineup and a new head coach away from being pretty good. Other than that, they're headed in the right direction...
Can we talk him into a Juwan/Bonzi for David Lee/ Crawford trade before he's canned? Come on Zeke, it's Bonzi Wells!!
if i were dolan i would give him the whole year. not because it's fair. because i would want the NY media to rip him to shreds for a whole year. in the summer i would pay jerry west anything he wants to become the president and GM of the knicks. i would then hire rick adleman, and pay hima nything he wants to make sure he signs. lord knows no coach will want to go there after the larry brown buy out. after that i would trade marbury for ANYTHING or just buy him out.
A-Train- Thanks man- I laughed out loud. I was trying to put some positive spin on the debacle that is the NY Knicks. They are going to be very bad for a long time I think. So much money has been invested in mediocrity. Marbury seem so unhappy - the owner must have more money than Bud Adams. Dave Checketts and that other guy from Utah really destroyed Dolan's money...
