My wife and I want one of these. I'm jewish and she's catholic. We put up a tree every year and think this would be perfect for us. Plus, we have a 1 year old who wouldn't be able to get to the ornaments this way.

It's pretty sad that the commercialization of Christmas has gotten to the point that there are now Christmas "fads". The upside down tree and the huge inflatable snowglobe are the two biggest fads right now. Anybody remember when every single house had icicle lights hanging from it?

There is generally more room on your ceiling than your floor, and it would prevent babies from taking ornaments off the tree. It seems to have some practical purposes...

It's like flying your flag upside down - it's code for Christmas is in crisis! Rush Limbaugh and his listeners should get on that.

Yeah like Christmas trees aren't already easy to knock over.

Give me one that is extreemly top heavy, Yeah that will do the trick.

    Satan thinks it's cool too.

(was that wrong? And if so, was it like Kramer wrong or Mike Tyson wrong?)

This actually is based on the concept of the hanging tree that has been used in shopping centers and other places. The practice dates back to the middle ages when trees were hung from ceilings rather than placed on the ground.

Someone got the idea that some may not have enough height in their room to hang a tree, so they built them upside down. Just a dumb fad.
