Definitely the best Bond movie since the Sean Connerie days, Golden Eye was really good though.

I really liked that they developed the character and showing you why James Bond is James Bond. I thought Daniel Craig did a good job.

Saw it a second time (the family wanted to see it). Surprisingly, very little was more clear than before. I guess after reflection, I understood most of it the first time through.

It was interesting to go back and watch all the characters again knowing what you know after seeing it through once, but yeah..didn't gain much. There are still a couple of things I'm unsure about (haha, but I can't remember them right now to ask).

It felt much longer the 2nd time through.. and there were a number of scenes I would have liked to have fast-forwarded through. (Then again, I had been awake for about 20 hours by the time I got in the theater this time.)

James Bond has been officially upgraded from WWF to UFC. The only downgrade was his car from Jaguar to a freaking Ford. I burst into laughter when I saw this scene. Laptop was not so techie as well. VAIO? C'mon, this ain't a wonderwoman movie.

What I miss was lack of gadgets. I think this is a very important part of 007.

i can see how people thought the movie dragged on at the end, but it was very important for the character development.

the romance angle was dragging on and i thought that was the end of the movie. it seemed a little un-bond to have him being all lovey-dovey, but than when he is ultimately betrayed it is like he snapped and realized that he can never trust anyone again - this is very important in understanding bond's psyche. when he told m "the b**** got what she deserved" i turned to my brother and said "now THATS the bond we know and love".

I finally got the chance to see this movie and am glad I did. It makes for a great last movie of 2006 for me. I was always a Roger Moore fan. Live and Let Die was the first Bond movie I saw as a kid with my father, so Moore has a special memory for me.

I didn't know much about Craig and came away a big fan. To say he's "too muscle bound" makes no sense to me. Who says Bond can't be ripped? I can't remember the last movie I went to where I was hoping for a sequel right away. The ending had me saying, "MORE!!" almost out loud. I got totally caught up in the movie. The action scenes were terrific. Man, that construction site sequence was amazing.

    And now for the
The biggest downer for me was Bond falling in love in about a week or two and resigning from his job. It just seemed too over the top for me, but I guess they have to throw crap like that into the movies to keep the chick watching happy. I also wasn't that impressed with the Bond chick. Terrific body, but nothing special in terms of Bond women. The gal who was killed early in the movie was MUCH more impressive. I thought the movie came to a screeching halt with the romance, fake ending and was actually glad she turned out to be a bad gal.

I have a hard time believing spys use cell phones so much. Wouldn't all of these messages be easy for any government to intercept??

Is it just me, or did the villan remind any of you of Crispen Glover's character in Charlie's Angels?

A little but Le Chiffre was more bad ass.

I didn't mind the love story but the movie could have stood to have some of those scenes trimmed a bit.

Saw it last week. I really liked it. I guess I am a bit different from a lot of you in that all of the gadgets were really turning me off in the Brosnan movies. It was nice to see a new perspective.

I really liked it...some very intense scenes. And it had a love story so my wife wasn't complaining :D

I actually thought the romance or at least interaction between Bond and Vesper was one of the more powerful parts of the film, even though it did drag a bit. Without losing his one and only love and failing to protect her, without that final piece to his armor, the silky, professional Bond that we've come to know would not exist. Oh, and Eva Green is easily the best Bond girl, no, Bond woman in my book. Her character is intelligent, beautiful, and deep - what more can you ask?

my only wish regarding the film - that they would show Bond's car more than TWO minutes before completely trashing it. Aston Martin DBS=the prettiest car.

His relationship with Vesper caused him to have trust issues with women. It was the loss of Tracy in On Her Majesty's Secret Service that kept him from ever letting a woman get close to him again.

Just saw it this weekend. I am a little confused about the ending. What happend to the girl?

I thought she made a deal to save him by giving them the money and she was expecting the bad guys to kill her correct? What was her previous boyfriend's problem? I missed that part. One last thing, who was that guy with the eye patch that Bond killed with the nail gun? Is he the guy who had the bloody tears?

    Yes,
Vesper did make a deal to give money to the bad guys, but it was to save her previous boyfriend, not Bond. Her previous boyfriend was kidnapped by the bad guys, I think, and they used that to blackmail her into working for them. I don't think she was expecting to be killed, but seeing Bond again made her lose her resolve and want to just leave it all behind (she locked the elevator door so that Bond wouldn't be able to save her). The guy in the eyepatch was just some random guy who was supposed to receive the money from Vesper. The guy with bloody tears (Le Chiffre) was shot dead right after he tortured Bond.

    Are you sure about that?
My impression was that Le Chiffre wasn't really killed, just staged for Bond. I thought for sure that the guy with the eye patch was him.

On another note, how in the hell did Mr. White get ahold of that silver briefcase so quick after it appeared to slide into the water when the house went down?

Yeah, now that I think about it, that guy probably is Le Chiffre. I didn't pay much attention to him, and his distinguishing features (hair and eye) were covered. But either way, he definitely died. :p

Eva Green is definitely hot. When Bond was trying to revive her all I could do was be mesmerized by her chest. LOL.
Check out The Dreamers to see how hot she really is.

Le Chiffre died in the torture chamber.

The guy who gets "nailed" is named Gettler.

I watched this film to catch up before I go see Skyfall and must I say Casino Royale was a masterpiece. I enjoyed every second of it. Daniel Craig is probably the best bond not named Sean Connery. The pacing of this film is brilliant.
