I have noticed after a few days off between games Tracy is considerably more explosive. In the final game of the season before playing Dallas in the playoffs he was held out. The result was a more athletic T-mac than we had during the whole season for game 1&2. Today against the Grizz, he's looking like Lebron after a few days off for Thanksgiving.

He is just tentative to physical contact, and the Grizzlies offer none of that.

:p Yeah, he definitely had more explosiveness and it was great to see. I like the way he took over the early 4th Qtr while Yao was sitting. Noby can handle him one on one off the drible and he was getting to the lane with ease and it's good to see him finish some with authority in addition to the kickout pass to the open man!

not neccesarily true. grizzilies were playing mcgrady tough, and forces him to pass up some shot as a result. the tmac we hav still suks at driving the ball and finishing for a superstar.
mcgrady plays best off pick and roll, and today we see more of that from yao and hayes and mutombo and therefore mcgrady looks better.
its simply a matter of different offense schemes.

T-mac is not mentally strong, thats the major difference between him and Kobe... when hes confident and happy he's a basketball god, when hes depressed and not confident, he's a piece of crap.. and once he hits a emotional low, he needs several games to get himself back

Our peice of crap is still playing at a franchise player level, would 20/6/6 be "peice of crap" basketball? we don't need tmac to be kobe to win, tmac is doing things kobe can not, such as be a magic-like distributor through a whole game and accept that role through out an entire season, which i believe tmac will be doing this season. I actually prefer to watch tmac as he is playing now than before, because even though he is less aggressive the defense can not be passive on gaurding him, which makes the offense flow a lot better than when anyone else is running the point.

i am not saying he's always peice of crap, he's in "basketball god" mode now. but once he hits his emotional low, ull see crap. i am not bashing him or deny his capabilities, just saying he is probably most emotion-affected player in the league.

Mac is playing good ball and I'm certain he's been pacing himself the first month of the season to see what he can and cannot do...I believe as the season progresses and his back holds up, he'll attack more and force his will on other defenders. Just to have him back putting up 20/6/6 is a blessing and if he's crap, there are 25 or so GM's that would take him over their current player @ SG/SF.

When you're rested you feel like taking it to the basket. Ballers will know what I'm talking about.

As far as T-mac being affected by emotional lows, this is true, but most people are. Some rely on religous beliefs to handle emotional issues(Hakeem, Kobe, etc).

As far as passing? I still think he can pass more. During moments in the game he has to be honest with himself. If he's shooting 3s or long 2s at a low percentage, strive for the assist. As good as player he is, I'd rather have Novak, Padgett, or Head shooting it in some of the possessions Tracy decided to shoot..

    Just curious,

what's the criterion for "emotion-affected" player?
