Right. I am worried about that, too.

weird that JVG does not want Bonzi to play, and he in return seems to begin to shake the boat now (his marathon-basketball theory)

If we cannot incorporate Bonzi in the offense, it's really hard to go deep in the playoffs...

    Not yet.

I hate to say: we are only a good team right now, but still a mile from Spurs and Dallas.....

Rockets are tied for the 3rd seed with the Mavs, right now. :D

    Current standings
    1 Jazz
    2 Spurs
    3 Rockets-Mavs
    4 Lakers(*division winner automatically gets a top 4 seed)
    5 Rockets-Mavs

Suggestion: Forget Bozo the Clown. If he ever joins the team, great. If not, too bad for him. Let's focus on the guys we have and break down the games as they are played.

Even if this is true, what is so great about that?

I really do want to be a Bat-Believer, but I just don't get it.

But I will try to heed your advice and keep my trap shut. :)

No, not the way we're right now, not with the current active roster we've seen this season.

This team can't beat either the Spurs or the Mavs in a 7-game series without a reliable third option to help out when teams crack down on Yao and/or McGrady. Not without another guy besides T-Mac who can create his own shot and be reliable in the crunch.

Heck, I would have my doubts about beating the Suns or even the Jazz in a seven game series if the playoffs started today.

Advancing to the second round or beyond would be better than anything this franchise has done in the past decade plus, so I would happily take it.

For now, I would be content with getting that monkey off our back, namely advancing past the first round....

It may not have been a blowout, but the Rockets took over during the 3rd quarter and controlled the entire game from there on out. That was good to see.

About Battier: Man he played great defense tonight! I counted at least 3 charges taken, one of which was one against Gay's fast break, very quick to get to a loose ball, provided a lot of help on defense, but he did miss some open shots. It's not fair to compare his performance to Stro based on the simple stats, granted, stro's assignment tonight was much tougher than Battier's.

Gay's athletic, once he get used to the big league he'll be at least a 'good' player. Is he a future all-star? Not sure yet.

At least I don't feel robbed after watching Battier, Swift and Gay out there tonight.

    Howard :( and Scott

Well I watched the game from start to finish and I can tell you as a very experienced Rockets fan [25 seasons] that Padgett who was once considered a decent shooter is no longer worthy of the amount playing time he is taking away from Novak. JVG likes to play him as an experienced player but JVG can't see that Padgett's best years are far behind him. It's about time for Novak to get some decent NBA experience.

What's wrong with our coach? What's with the love for Scott Padgett? Is it because he's the royal descendent of the Great Ryan Bowen? S. Padgett missed shots after shots(1-7 actually) but Jeff never relinquished his trust for him. That's not the case for V-span and Steve Novak. Maybe Steve Novak isn't as good a defender as Mr. Padgett, but he's a hell lot better offensively. I'm sure his offensive prowess will offset his defensive deficiencies in the game. The paint is pretty crowded. I'm sure he can space the floor. In short, I don't understand why Novak didn't get more playing time when Scott Padgett was shooting bricks.

And V-span. He didn't play particularly well the few minutes he's on the floor. Jeff wasn't as forgiving because he's no veteran or something else. The result? He was benched for the entire game. He might stay there for a really long, long time.

Both Head and Hays played very well. This fact makes people feel sad. Hadn't it been for last season's injury problems, wouldn't these two be still watching on the sidelines all the time?

This is the freaking lowly Memphis Grizzlies! If Jeff didn't have the guts to play rookies in this game, when will they ever see the court again? With the current bench players, how can this team go past the first round and maybe more? Jeff, please just take some risks!

Why didn't Jeff give him more playing time?

I don't see any problem in that. The lakers did it with shaq and kobe.

i'm loving tracy's unselfish mentality...13 assists...damn...double double too...and once again...juwan's struggling 0-4 ...but finally jvg has the senses to only put him on for 5 minutes...and what's up yao only being on for 18 minutes?...it's not like we have a game tomorrow...

That's not entirely true. We're certainly ahead of the Mavericks because we hold the tie-breaker as of now.

That's a bunch of nonsense and shows how much you know.

Horry, Fisher, Fox, and others (they had a pretty good Glen Rice one year) were MORE than serviceable role players, were players with experience and players who performed in the clutch, they perfected their roles.

The Lakers didn't have great depth, but they had some of the best role players in the league. How many big shots/clutch moments did the likes of Fisher and Horry hit for that team?

Give me the same Horry and Fisher from those championship years on the current Rockets team and take anyone besides Yao and McGrady, then you will see results.

I see a big problem because Yao and Tracy aren't nearly as dominant as Shaq and Kobe were. For a couple of seasons, you could have argued they were the two best players in the NBA.

To aussiejack, the minutes played on nba.com just got fixed. What was there a few minutes ago was only for the 1st half even though the other stats were full game.

I don't know why JVG don't use Novark instead of suck Howard and suck Paddget? At least Novark can shoot 3 ,while the others can't do anything besides suck the ball
