The first goal of Spanoulis is to become a solid part of Rox rotation and win games. THe guy has a lot of upside, so far he showed he can play very good D, he likes getting physical and shows no fear. Let's hope he can keep it up and grow even better, imho his upside is impressive.
Russia is part of the Eurasian continent (Europe + Asia = Eurasia). Some Russians look like Asians, especially the ones living near the borders of China and Asian countries.
CSKA Moscow, AK's former team, is in the euroleague. Before he was in the euroleagues, he was on the jr euroleague teams. If AK was playing in the Asian leagues, the asian teams would be alot more competitive.
China has the 2nd largest number (123 million) of internet users in the world, second only to USA. link: http://www.internetworldstats.com/asia/cn.htm And China is the 2nd largest market of PC (meaning, more PC's sold in China compared to any other country except USA). And of all the Chinese students I've met, not a single MALE Chinese was not interesting in Yao Ming in NBA. What you said is actually true (you used the word "most") but it's quite misleading. And Stevie Francis did become all-star because of Chinese votes. But still, Yao is getting the majority of his votes from the USA. Everybody knows that except the media.
LOL, awesome. Thank God he did not go the way of Nick Galis, what a waste of a potential great career playing along side Larry Bird and winning championships(provided he wasn't dealt away) and such......he could have made tons more money too. So, I am glad kill bill is smart enough to not turn down the NBA. Nick Galis: He was selected by the Boston Celtics in the 4th round of the 1979 NBA Draft. He was 68th overall but elected instead to pursue a professional career in Greece.
please post a link to the original article before this thread is closed. i enjoy the vspan threads and hope this one would carry on... with a link.
Interesting info, but I think it might depend on which region. When I visited the GuangXi province...most of the people I talked to knew who Yao Ming was, but didn't care for him or basketball. Im sure if you go to Shanghai, you'll have alot of people interested in basketball/Yao Ming because that's his home town.
I was wondering where you got the idea that most people in China do not have PC and internet access. Now I understand that you've probably only been to Guangxi province, which is arguably one of the poorest regions in China. Most Chinese, particularly the ones live in the coastal region, have PC and internet access.
