I got this email this morning and I wanted to post it here in case anyone either was looking or knew anyone else who might be. Also, if you could send this info out to others via email, it would be a great help.

    Thank you!

I haven't had any response at all to these babies (all under a year old) so thought I'd send them out one more time. They will all be gassed on Monday (11/27), if placements for them can't be found before then. Please crosspost far and wide and let me know if anyone can help.

Kennel 11 - Tricolor Beagle Mix Male Pup

Poor baby was left behind when his owners moved out of their house!

Kennel 12 - White & Brown Terrier Mix Female

This girl has such a personality! She's always happy to see someone! Was dumped at the pound by her owner, a military person who was said he couldn't take care of her anymore.

Kennel 15 - White & Tan Beagle Mix Female

Another little cutie, with loads of personality! She gives great kisses! She came in a few days after the others on this list but is still in pretty much the same boat so I'm including here as well.

Kennel 16 - White Lab Mix Male

This is a gorgeous boy...my pics of him just don't do him justice. These were taken when he first came in and was still scared. I've taken several since but they didn't turn out. He's a beautiful dog and will be on the smaller side, under 40 pounds I'd guess. He's got lovely amber eyes and is just a real sweetie. If I didn't already have 40 or so to take care of, I'd take him home with me!

Unfortunately, with what happened to my gf's family dogs, they don't think her mom can really handle another dog right now.

Otherwise I'd let them know about this. Hopefully someone takes care of these.

Thanks for the comments. If anyone can even just pass this info on to other people, that would be a big help.

Is the Lab also in Falfurrias?

It looks like it's mixed with Red Heeler. Absolutely gorgeous.

Irresponsible pet owners should rot in hell. I hate them with a mad passion!

    Oh... man.

I just rode to the store, like half a mile away and managed to run over two small dogs. I don't even know how I ran over two dogs at once.... I feel sick. :(

    Vomit sick... damnit :(

Jeff. Check this site www.2coolfishing.com (its a local area fishing site, there is a few ladies on there who run shelters, there are always "find good home" type posts there.

And then their sister site is www.2coolclassifieds.com where you could try. There are some really good people on these two sites.

Yeah... I was riding right next to a ditch with tall dead grass and they were chasing each other I guess.... God.

I didn't even get a chance to swerve. The owner pulls into the store and calls his wife and asked if the puppies are in the house... I was just sitting on my bike, stunned..

A bike? You hit them while on a motorcycle?

Poor puppies, thats really sad, but if there was nothing you could do about it don't beat yourself up over it. Accidents happen.

    Yes, on a motorcycle.

Time marches on, and I'm over it but it surprises me how bad it messed with me at the time. I got light headed and it seems surreal. You'd think I just killed a person.

This thread looks like a good place to ask a question I've had for a while......

I've been thinking of getting a dog, but I've never owned one. What kind of financial commitment am I looking at, and how much does training cost? I'm not big on dog poo, so is it possible to get them trained to go in a particular area.

Conflicting answers, really. On the one hand, financial commitment at times can be less than thought. Dog food comes in super large bags fairly cheaply, and, unlike cats, they poo outside and need no litter.

On the other hand, as with almost any pet, your biggest cost will be the vet, which depending on the dog can get up there.

Are you dead set on a puppy? Because my suggestion would be a year to two year old dog. A lot of the initial vet costs are out of the way. You can almost definitely find one that is potty trained, you'll still get to enjoy it the lenghts of its life, dogs are still trainable at that age (or any age, really), etc. Plus, I think the older dogs (non-puppies) are obviously harder to adopt out.

Me and my girlfriend just adopted a dog last week from the Georgetown Animal Shelter! We named him Penguin. It's been one of the most fun weeks of my life. He's a five year old, 25 lb border collie mix. Possibly the runt bc I know border colies are much bigger. He's definitely been domesticated long before we got him because I've never heard him bark, he doesn't jump on anyone, he's house trained, and just the most docile little guy ever. He had a little incident last night involving pies left out on a table but other than that, he's been a pleasure.

Adopting a rescued dog has been a very fulfilling experience. I'd recommend it to anyone. It's inconceivable how someone could spend a thousand dollars for some severely inbred pure breed when there are thousands of great dogs crammed into cages waiting for someone to give them a chance. I've heard some bad horror stories of pure breeds having severe health problems because they breed closely related dogs together over generations and the genetic variability is reduced to Mississippi-like levels.

Adopt a dog. It's just good karma.
