I believe the frustration lies in the fact that we really haven't won too many of our games convincingly. Most of our wins came in an ugly way, in which we came close to blowing it and didn't play our best. We all know that our players are capable of playing better, and it is disappointing to see them not playing their best, making dumb decisions, being passive, and getting dominated late in the games. The concern is that if we continue making these same mistakes, we will start to lose some of these games sooner rather than later. These are genuine, well-considered concerns of real problems, not knee-jerk reactions. We need to win, but we need to start winning convincingly from now on. Some of our games have been ugly to say the least. Our team playing well is all that I ask. Even if it ends up in a loss, I can live with that.
I am proud of our team and record. I support this team and this coach-because he is the coach of this team. I am a Rockets fan first and will enjoy the season regardless. I will be at the game tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving.
yep! No matter how you slice it, 4 road wins and one home loss is always good, like Another Brother's Fried Turkey advice!
Yeah, despite all the b****in, there is something substantial about this year's team. The 04-05 Rockets were pretty damn good, but often had to rely on lights out shooting from Wesley, Sura, etc to pull out wins. This year's team, I watch and it look like they aren't playing well and next thing you know the scoreboard shows we are up 20. Maybe it means we have even more potential than we did that year.
this is something I was thinking about while rewatching the Wiz game. This team right now goes thru times when they are just clicking and look better than any Rocket team since 95, and time swhen they seem to lose their brains and look as bad as the team last year without Tmac AND Yao. the thing I noticed last game was that the up times look better with each game and the downtimes dont last as long The team defense is actually improving with each game, and the offense flows smoother as the players get used to each other They arent even playing as good as they can, but the gap between where they are and where they need to be is shrinking....quickly.
Thank you. I was planing to start a horribly sarcastic thread about the same thing.........ie...damn...we are only on pace to win around 55 games.....How will we ever beat the Bulls 72 game record playing like the dogs we are? etc...etc...
This team is fun to watch. Even the San Antonio game - we ruled for nearly three Quarters. A little fine tuning and poise - we can play at a high level. We have more depth than in many years. Our depth is younger now. We do not have to depend on a lot of old players like in '04-'05.We have young talent. I really hope Bob Sura can come back. For limited minutes in a game he can be our Willis Reed -inspiration. I was sad to see Kirk Snyder get his hand broken. He can be a special player I think. I always liked those quick- athletic players like Cuttino. The Utah game was a disappointment -because I hate Utah, but I did not know Utah waould be so good. The team is finding itself- chemistry wise. T-Mac will get his rhythm back, and Yao is playing like a house on fire. Go Rockets-my team... We still do not know the ceiling for this team's improvement and development.
Tisk...tisk... Jazzy Jeff. You would think that you would understand where the hate permiates. JVG is a New Yorker who coaches in Texas. He replaced a legend who drank tons of beer and smiled win or lose. And, Grumpy always finds the negative in every positive. Does it matter that he is well respected in the NBA? Nope. Does it matter that almost every player he coached has showed him the loyalty he deserves and praises him when they are being coached by Grumpy? Nope. Does it matter that he got fined 25k by the NBA for b****ing about his big man being overlooked when he gets hacked on every play leading to 18 foul shot attempts when they played the Knicks in MSG? Nope. Does it at all matter to any hater what Gundy does positive? No. Look at the hate thread that started here during the first week of the season. It has died off since Haters can't b**** right now. But...God forbid the minute we lose a quintuplet overtime game at 5am! That thread will fire up faster than Houston heat in August!
ALL THIS F@#$in negativety OK...I'm going off on a tangent, and yes I;m drunk......BUT WE R 9 AND 4 MOFOS!!!!!...... I would say that aint too bad.....4th best record in NBA 12 games into this mug...so tracy's shot aint as good as it has been and all the other whiney complaints.......how about from here on out, we give our team unconditional love and support, and just let the rest happen, without judging our fav team on all the negative bs. Every team in this league is going to have there downsides and there negative aspects. SO I SAY LOVE THIS TEAM TILL THE DAY WE DIE AND LET DESTINY FOLLOW!!!!!!!!!!! ROCKETS TILL I DIE!!!!!!! thanks b****es!!!! -ryry
usually people drown their sorrows about a lost love...not about a basketball team...you must be a fanatic
and let me tell u something.. there are always gonna be negativity.. cuz without it, there's only ass-kissing left. i ain't gonna read this forum if there's only ass kissing =)
