Any thoughts on this whole NFL network thing?

I'd think eventually viewers will demand it enough, but looks like Time Warner thinks it is too expensive http://www.nflgetreal.com

Anyone know if Comcast will offer the channel when they take over in Houston?

What I hate are the big three networks. I just wish every NFL game was available on NFL ticket. I don't want a dish. I have cable and like it. I would love to pay to have everygame available to me If the NFL allowed NFL ticket on cable, it would put all the others out of business.

    How are the networks responsible?

Blame Direct TV and the NFL. Direct TV paid to be the exclusive provider of Sunday Ticket and the NFL accepted. The NFL moved some live games to NFL Network to sell their channel to advertisers and satellite/cable operators, and make money.

Good post - I'm surprised at the sudden uproar over a less than marquee KC game tonight, when the NFL ticket seems to be a much bigger issue to me. It strikes me as ludacris to freeze out cable and the dish network from it. No other pro or college package does this, and you can't convince me that the money they get from Direct TV is even to the number of people (w/o Direct) that would be all over it.

Maybe I just don't care because I get NFL Network (Phonoscope Cable).

who cares, as long as I have my NBATV I am happy.

btw, the NFL sucks because they do sign exclusive deals, unlike the NBA.

The households that don't get NFL Network are still getting the Cowboys/Falcons game in D/FW. I don't get it.

Lions game was on CBS, Cowgirls on FOX, night game on NFL network. Is it in HD though? I was watching the pregame show and it was not in HD, lets hope the game is.

it's because they are local and I think the NFL has to show those games in local markets, probably on a local channel.

I remember the inaugural Texans/Cowboys game was shown on ABC13 and they took the direct feed from ESPN Sunday Night Football.

No. As mentioned above the Cowboy/Bucs game was on Fox. Everyone got that game.

The Chiefs game was on the NFL Network. It was only on regular tv stations in KC and Denver. The NFL blows because of this.

Bryant Gumbel is a terrible announcer. Consider yourself lucky if you missed him.

I agree, that team of announcers was terrible, almost unwatchable.
