Agree with you 100%. I never praised JVG for anything but I have to say that JVG is doing the right thing for not playing Wells. NBA coach is like a real world managers, he/she needs stand for what is right in order to manage the team. In real corporate world, knucklehead like Wells would have been fired already. Knuckleheads need to be fired several times in their career so that they finally get it that they have to change.

No, the real worst case scenario is TRADING BONZI. If we have to eat his contract and have him warm the bench than so be it. The last thing we can do is TRADE HIM against his wishes. If that happens, we will NEVER get a free agent signing (on the cheap) EVER again. That would make it TWICE we trade a player taking a pay cut for 'a chance to play with Yao and Tmac'.

We can not get greedy and try to use Bonzi's cheap contract as an opportunity to obtain milk something out of it. If it doesn't work out just eat it and forget about it.

Fire JVG? Are you serious? We only have the #1 defense in the NBA, Yao is averaging 25pts, 10 boards per and T-Mac is not consistently scoring even 20 pts a game and you say this?

You cant blame JVG and CD for the actions of this imbecile. Bonzi's agent said Bonzi was going to come in and work hard and he doesnt even bother to try to get himself in any sort of game ready shape.

The Rockets have given him the opportunity to redeem himself what has he done in return ... ?

Bonzi is a "crybaby" and yes, he is evoking images of a one JR Rider. It's to Bonzi's advantage to put his best foot forward but, up to now Bonzi keeps working harder at bucking JVG's system. Irregardless of talent level, a player is only filling a role on the team and should not be allowed to just run the insane asylum however he sees fit.

But this is all JVG's fault, right? Unbelievable!!!

Bargain? Chance? Whatever you call it, yes with Bonzi's established talent he is/was worth the gamble but, it's all up to Bonzi now. Only he can take the proverbial foot out of his mouth and his thumb out of his ass. Obviously, we will know soon what is to happen next.

One more thing, we arent even close to playing our best b-ball and we are
8-4 and competing very fiercely in our bulldog division.

Right now, T-Mac is resorting to more playmaker than scorer and BTW, "Kill Bill" continues his balling ways, Bonzi may never see playing time anyway.

I don't see it that way. I think the message that will be sent is don't even think about coming here unless you are going to give it everything you got, come to camp in shape, and fit into what we have here with 111. And that is the message that should be set. No gravy trainers please.

Yeah, it certainly stopped Bonzi from signing here when we did that to Swift.

Right now Bonzi has 0 trade value -who would want to take a chance on his bad attitude now manifesting itself again?

I suspect he'll eventually comply. I mean he has no other option. Nobody wants him, he's not getting contract offers, and his career is at a low point.

Hopefully some time will help him see the light just like that 60 game suspension did for Sprewell. If not, Wells may be done for in the NBA.

And Derek Anderson, and Jim Jackson.

If Wells wants to be traded for personal reasons, he certainly has some value. His contract is cheap and there are teams who need his skill set (Chicago, for one, maybe Miami).

Hell, Pat Riley took a chance on DA, didn't he?

There is so much rubbish and speculation about Bonzi being wriiten on this Forum!! One would think that all the writers were insiders with personal knowlede of Bonzi and his character. I think silence is golden, woulld be a better frame of mind to adopt on this subject. Have Parience, dear friends and let history unfold, there is almost nothing that we a outsiders can do to effect or develop the Bonzi Saga! :p

I don't know if this was already posted or not:

    Sports Illustrated Gobble awards
NBA turkeys, wasted money, senior dancers and more
    Posted: Wednesday November 22, 2006 12:33PM; Updated: Friday November 24, 2006 1:27PM

Larry Brown is a turkey for not only trying to get as much money as he could from Jim Dolan, but also for being photographed coaching in overalls earlier in his career.
It's Thanksgiving week, so let's spotlight three of the NBA's biggest turkeys this year:
    • Larry Brown -- In the first year of a five-year $50 million contract with the Knicks, Brown coached the team to its third worst record in the franchise's 60-year history, feuded with players and reportedly went behind GM Isiah Thomas' back by calling around the NBA and proposing trades. Owner James Dolan wisely decided he had enough and fired Brown. But what about the four years, $40 million he was owed? The Knicks felt Brown wasn't owed anything because he tried to play GM; Brown, of course, felt he was entitled to every last cent.

So why is Brown a turkey? Because in addition to the $40 million he felt he was owed, he also tried to squeeze another $12.5 million out of the Knicks for damages and lawyers fees. Does this man have any self-respect? It's bad enough that during the playoffs in his last year with the Pistons, he was trying to negotiate his landing spot (with Cleveland, which eventually wised up and passed on Brown), but the Knicks ordeal is a new low.

Luckily, NBA commissioner David Stern saw through Brown's charade and only awarded the coach $18.5 million, about a third of the $52.5 million he was seeking. But if the greed factor wasn't enough to make him a turkey, we uncovered a 1975 photo of him ... in overalls!

    • David Stern -- While we applaud the commish for many things -- not giving Brown the $52.5 million to name one -- the whole ordeal with the new ball has not gone well. Whether it's Shaquille O'Neal, who said playing with the new ball is like "going to a gentlemen's club, seeing an exotic dancer and then going home and playing with a plastic blow-up doll." or LeBron James comparing it to "a basketball you buy for your kids at Christmas," the early feedback has not been good. What's even worse is that the new ball has overshadowed one of Stern's better achievements this year -- taking the whining and complaining from players to the refs out of the game.

    • Bonzi Wells -- Six months ago, Wells thought he was sitting pretty. In his first season with the Kings, he averaged a respectable 14 points and 8 rebounds, then turned it up in the team's first-round loss to the Spurs, averaging 23 points and 12 rebounds per game.

Heading into free agency, Wells thought the big money was around the corner, which is why he turned down the Kings' initial offer, a reported five years and $38 million. Wells waited for that big money ... and waited and waited. But it never came.

To add insult to injury, the Kings withdrew their offer and signed John Salmons to a reported five-year, $25.5 million contract. By late September, the free agent money had dried up and all Wells could swing was a two-year, $5 million contract from the Rockets. The second year is a player option, so if Wells has a big year, he can test free agency again. However, in the Rockets' first 10 games, Wells has played just 31 minutes, averaging three points and four rebounds. Karma, anyone?

It's nothing new, but it's one award Rockets fans don't want to receive from one of our "prized" offseason acquisitions.

    This is hilarious.

This, OTOH, is not. We might have just flushed 5 million dollars down the toilet. He could literally be out of shape for two years if he wanted to.

we can try all we want, but do you honestly think Milwaukee's having any part of this one?

    Nope.

Realistically, Wells only has DA/Swift trade value at the minute. We would be STEALING if we could trade him for somebody who could contribute.

I have no problem with trading Bonzi, as long as we get something in return unlike the DA situation. Maybe a package deal with him and Howard for a better 4, Murphy or someone like him...didn't golden state want to play Dunleavy at the 4, if that the case they might consider parting with Murphy if the salaries match.
