What are you talking about? Have you seen Bonzi? He is clearly out of shape. Why do you think JVG is sitting Bonzi out.

What information do you have that says Bonzi is ready to play?

JVG saying it was personal problem isn't a lie. If Bonzi's lazy bad attitude is a personal problem that still doesn't make it a lie.

But we only have rumor what that problem was. Nobody knows for sure.

This isn't even a close call. Bonzi wanted to play on his terms and JVG said, "no dice." Bonzi told the press at the beginning of pre-season that he didn't need exhibition games - they were waste of time. He then presented an assortment of excuses (groin injury, dental problems, personal problems) designed to avoid having to participate in training camp or preseason. JVG didn't like it, and let Bonzi play 2 games to show everybody (except a few idiots on this board who thinks this is JVG's fault) that Bonzi could not contribute to the team in his physical condition. JVG and the Bonz have been locked in a power struggle since day one, when BW said he didn't need training camp and then made sure he wouldn't have to participate. JVG is doing what he must do to keep control of his team. Last time I checked, Les hired JVG as the coach, not Bonz. If Bonzi doesn't get the message that he needs to what the team demands then he will sit all year or be traded. This is 100% the fault of Bonzi. The irony of all of this is that Bonzi, with free agency looming, is only hurting himself, and JVG knows it.

how about we package and FIRE JVG's a$$??

if he knew Bonzi is a knucklehead, why the hell did you sign him??

I am still waiting for an answer justifying JVG's action..

I am a supporter of JVG, I like the guy, I know he's kinda slow and r****ded, but he manages to work things out.. he just needs time.. but the one thing that I dont understand is why the hell did u sign him in the first place ??

bargain?? yes he was a bargain.. well, if he played... how can you call it a bargain if we paid the guy 2 millions (or something like that) to have him go out and have fun in houston's night clubs... I just dont get it...

Because CD and JVG bought into Bonzi's agent's representation that the Bonz would play his butt off for a chance to be with Yao/TMac and the chance for a huge contract next year. Only problem with that is that Bonz thought he could just miss pre-season. Oh, Yao, TMac and the others had to go to training camp, but not Bonzi. He thought he was above that. That wasn't going to sit well with JVG and the pissing match was on. This is Bonzi's fault and he is going to lose this power struggle. If Bonzi wins, then JVG has lost control of the whole team and that can't happen and won't happen.

2 million in the NBA is peanuts and worth the risk for what Bonzi could have gave the Rockets. This move didn't cripple the Rockets ability to sign anyone else, and will not hurt them in the future.

Why are you so upset? It's not your money.

Couple of things that both Bonzi and a few Clutch Fans seem to overlook:

    • 1. JVG is the coach. He sets the rules for practise, for partcipating with the team, and for earning playing time. It's not up to Bonzi, his agent, or us to decide when and where he plays.
    • 2. JVG says Bonzi is out of shape. I assume he can tell whether or not a player is in shape for NBA basketball. If Bonzi can't stay with the other guys when doing wind sprints, for example, he's got no b**** about not playing.
    • 3. How long does it take a pro athelete to get in shape anyway? It's not rocket science (no pun intended); it's about sweating your butt off in practise, in hustling for loose balls and in defending your opponent; it's watching your diet and hitting the weight room; it's about being first at practise and last to leave. It's both desire and attitude; I'll assume Bonzi has the aptitude - seems to be a little short with the other two, however.

Whether it's Bonzi Wells or T-Mac, you're not paid to second guess the coach. If Wells were 10% of the team player T-Mac is, he'd be out there on the floor every day and in every ay to help the team succeed.

Sooner or later this saga will playout it's course. personally i think bonzi will get traded for a scrub and a good draft pick. if we could make howard more attractive by throwing bonzi in there, then go for it. the bulls would love to have a scorer like bonzi.

It dosent sound like the rockets are seriousely looking to bring him back. bobcats love to have bonzi. ely for bonzi? the heat really need a scorer like him. i personally hope we can snag a high dradft pick for him.

I doubt the KNICKS WOULD BITE. unless bonzi was in tiptop shape, no. if he were in good shape we wouldnt be trading him. bonzi has the potential to be a top 20 player in the league. it's so frustrating. he has as much game as a joe johonson OR another great player. the work ethic is the problem.
