Call it a foul or not but Yao has a way of pissing some of us up. Will Nate try that nonsense against Shaq or even Orlando's Howard. Yao needs to start destroying people physically. Yao has to put the hurt on someone so that the fear of Yao will spread throughout the league. Maybe injuring a few players trying to block his shot will send a warning to all those little men and wannabe shot blackers in the league. No one messes with Dikembe's space when he goes for a rebound or secures one - no one should have the guts to step up to Yao to ever block his shot. This is personal [or at least should be] - put aside the setbacks. I know dunks take a lot away from Yao stamina wise (my deduction) but all what that means is that Yao has to ante his stamina. What I want for Christmas is Yao the bulldozer.
well, i probably think that yao didnt know nate was their at the 1st place! as you can see, after he recieved the ball he immediately turned 180 then jump going to the basket, whilst nate was already airborne. and as for that, yao needs to go string, well, i agree, he needs to go strong, but looking at the video, i think no matter how strong you are going to the basket, if an opponents momentum is going down, well, it will either result on a block or a foul..which in that scenario..are both!
You've got to be kidding me. Every basketball player has gotten his shot blocked, and many of them in embarassing fashion. I swear, it's almost as if you uber-Yao-detractors (and yes Fegwu, I know for a fact that you went from being one of Yao's biggest supporters to one of his harshest critics over the years) won't be satisfied with his toughness until he pulls a Kermit Washington and gets suspended from the league. Hell, maybe he should start toting a handgun onto the court while he's at it. If basketball greatness were measured in number of thrown elbows and intentional injuries doled out, we'd be talking about Karl Malone as the greatest player ever.
People are really making a big thing of Nate's block of Yao. ESPN on it's Around the Horn show had 3 of the 4 guys say that block will be remembered for the next 10 years, compared it to David and Goliath blah blah blah. I really think Yao when he said that he didn't know it was Nate that blocked his shot was telling the truth. If you look at the tape, I don't think Yao even saw Nate. I loved Yao's answer though, that it wasn't a record, he was blocked by a guy 5'3".
Stop the hate and give the big fella some love, please. How empty your life will be without the big guy.
LOL Looks more like "your mad" to me............lmao that was DEFINITELY not a foul. His hand hit his face after he hit the ball away, and he blocked it with his LEFT HAND. Im a Rockets fan but you gotta give credit where its due..........amazing block, but atleast we won
Yao sucks, he is such a p***y. There is no way I would let such a small man block my shot. He should really just quit basketball, he's too slow and demure for the game anyway. Hell, I bet he'll never even win an MVP. signed, all other centers in the league
Now that is one of the things I do respect about Shaq. At his size he does take a lot of punishment, but he also dishes a lot back. Rarely do you see him challenged.
I've never seen such a nonsense post before! Do you know that Yao's legs were broken before? Do you know Yao's arms are short comparing to his height? Do you know even in China, Yao's physical constitution isn't the best among other basketball player? So that guy can jump high, big deal! Put him into Yao's condition, I doubt that he could even make it to NBA! Yao doesn't deserve to be treated like that just because his height.
I don't know if those YAO HATERS will be really happay when Yao quit the baskball someday. I don't know if some YAO-HATERS are really another kind of YOF.
Well, before that, he needs to pack himself up with a few more pounds of good lean meat. He once said during the interview with some sina guys that he wish he had the muscles of Shaq.
Agreed if the Rox were losing the game by ten at that point and Yao hadn't scored that would have been embarrasing, but after he dropped 30 and 15 and then 25 and 9 sweeping the season series, its just a great play made by a great athlete that didn't affect the outcome of the game.
People should just be happy we got a player like Yao with our first pick rather than an Olowokandi or Kwame Brown.
