oh man, now that's something extremely hard to find! Let's see, Hayes is 3rd at rebounds per 48 minutes, and if we fused padgett's shot and size to hayes' rebounding nad athletcism..........hmmm, we'll get a Shawn Marion! (without the high flying dunks and the multi-tasking)
I kind of like what the rockets are doing here, adding guys like padgett and jacobsen. If there is one glaring weakness on the roster its that we dont really have enough shooters. Wells isnt a shooter and neither is Alston. It remains to be seen with V-Span. With all these crappy guys who just shoot, we can find whichever one plays the best in the system and hopefully he will be able to contribute beyond his talent level. Like with padgett, who had a really high +/- the last time he was with us.
So.... to recap. 1:Alston, V-Span, Sura, JLIII 2Wells, Synder, Head, Azubiuke 3: T-Mac, Ry-bo, Novak, Jacobsen, Padgett 4:Battier, J-Ho, Hayes 5:Yao, Deke I count 18 players. Which of those are non-guaranteed? Padgett, jacobsen, azubiuke....? any more?
This thread is really odd. You wonder has anyone here actually seen Ryan Bowen or Casey Jacobsen play? Look people the absolutely SUCK! Padgett is light years better than both. There is nothing odd about this signing because obviously those two should not be on the team. That leaves Padgett, Sura, Azuibuke for two spots. Simple, sign Padgett, keep Sura is he can go, if not he retires and keep Azuibuke. This isn't Rocket science.
I was thrilled when I saw the headline on yahoo about signing Bonzi and my smile got all the bigger when I saw it followed by Padgett's name. I don't understand where any of this negativity is coming from myself. He gives us shooting that everyone seems to agree we need in someone that already knows this system. Plus, even though I saw it stated that he does not solve our rebounding woes he is certainly no slouch either. I remember making an observation about his play 2 years ago when everyone was complaining about our rebounding at the PF spot in which I stated that everytime Padge got to play 20 minutes he grabbed at least 7 boards for us. I know, I didn't believe me either when I was looking at the game logs back then but I'm pretty sure I'm remembering the trend correctly. Of course why you would start someone who isn't a defensive dynamo over Jho's brilliant play on the defensive end..... Yeah, I'm happy he's back.
The Rockets should have never retained Bowen and let Padgett go: stupid, stupid, stupid. What were they thinking? Welcome back, you are a great fit for this team and if the orgainization listened to its fans (customers) you would have never left and Bowen would be gone among other things.
I who is better Padgett or Jacobsen, and you say Padgett is light years better than jacobdsen well then why did he rank 9th in 3pt% a few years ago, and ryan bowen, I say we put him in against teams that have a powerful offense and Weak defense so that we don't have to sacrifice PPG.
All I have to say is that if Scott Padgett stays... He better be making commercials again. TWO BEERS!!!
Lol way to bring this thread back. And yes, that's what it seems like. Padgett comes in so we don't play Novak.
If bringing this thread back is confusing to an Aggie Dentist.... I actually like the body, but not at Novaks' (and the Rockets) greater good.
Why this again lol. It is strange how popular opinion was Novak was a sleeper pick and can be an immediate contributor, and now he's riding pine and racking up more DNPs than 3 pt attempts. I wonder how many other teams are leaving their immediate contributors on the bench.
