I just want to say that the uprights on these field goal posts hate the Cowboys. I think 3-4 times this year, a Cowboys kicker has hit the upright, which resulted in a missed FG every time. About the same number of times, an opponent's kicker has hit the upright, but the FG was made every time.
if the most accurate kicker in history would show up and put them down the middle, it wouldn't be an issue.... he just about blew the p.a.t. also. somebody get him some vodka
Yeah, I'm not happy about Vanderjagt's performance this year either. At this point, the Cowboys got screwed with that deal. I think Suisham missed one or two FGs that way though (one might have been in preseason). And it still doesn't explain why the opponents have made every one of them.
Can you believe the Cowboys just won this game with that first down? I'm just in shock and disbelief. Definitely Bill's biggest win so far with the Cowboys. Wow. Great game!
Vanderjagt consistently kicks to the right. Even his PATs are barely in the uprights. The idiot kicker is at his best.
Not throwing a TD pass can hurt the QB Ratings. Romo's 19-23 for 226 yards is pretty good numbers. Especially against the Colts D that showed up today.
one was 67.7, the other 93.8 manning had 2 tds and 2 picks romo 0 and 1.... passing was 28 yards difference. 51% vs 82% completions.... the int wasn't that big of a deal.
Reminds me of thread a few weeks ago when a poster overreacted to one game and started a thread that said the cowboys season was over. lol
Fantastic game, it was great to see Romo and Glenn finally starting to click. The Cowboys could easily be leading the NFC East if not for turnovers and stupid penalties.
I do want to say that Romo has far exceeded my expectations, at least through 4 games. I wasn't too sure about the move since I wasn't sure if Romo was ready to be a NFL starting QB, but it seems like he is clearly capable of being one. I was worried that he'd be making a lot of mistakes, but that hasn't been a problem at all really. He's probably played the best of any Cowboy in the last 4 games, and probably been the most consistent (not counting his performance in the NYG game). I didn't want to get too high on him after just one or 2 good games, but I'm not sure if you can have 4 fluke performances in a row. Hopefully he can continue to play this way the rest of the season. That's one less thing to worry about (although as the WAS game showed, there are several other issues that still need to be addressed).
RC: I agree with Romo, he has looked solid. The no TD issue wasnt that troublesome today, as he did control the offense. Much better than Drew. I think we will win the playoffs. The eagles season ended today, and the Giants may be better now, but Parcells doesnt talk about Romo like he is a rookie. If he can be steady, our D is solid and we will at worst, be wildcard, and I would not want to deal with this team in the playoffs. Vandjagt needs to figure it out though.... Thought we had that problem worked out. GREAT WIN!
If Romo continues to improve and excel in managing games, the Cowboys could pop out of the NFC and suprise everyone.
It was easy to see this one coming. To me the Cowboys are the best team in the NFC. They are better than the Giants and Bears and Panthers, IMO, the rest of the NFC sucks besides those 4. The Cowboys have a great defense, very good running game, and Romo is playing really well and they have 3 big weapons in the passing game with Witten, TO and Terry Glenn, and they have a great coach. TO has also shut his mouth as well. They would have beaten Jacksonville and Philadelphia and probably would have beaten the Giants if Romo had been the QB all along, making them 8-2 or 9-1. I'm not one of these guys who hate the Cowboys just because I'm a Texan fan or I'm in Houston. The Cowboys are not really a big rival, we play them every 4 yrs, so I like the Cowboys. But I do despise the Mavericks.
ehh the penalties is what killed them in the losses... granted romo probably would have put them in a better position to win (see bledsoe, interception king), but i think 8-2 is a bit over optimistic... this was toughest game left on the schedule, and they played relatively mistake free. if romo takes the cowboys, and penalties don't stop them, 4-2 or better the rest of the way, and finishes with a 7-3 or 8-2 record overall... i'll shut up about the penalties. and the safety spots got lucky manning didn't really go after them today.
