With the victory today over Michigan, Ohion St. has won a trip to Arizona to play in the BCS title game. Who their opponent will be at the moment is pretty unclear but there are plenty of contenders for that championship spot. Who do you think will end up getting it?

I don't want to see a rematch, but these a re far and way the 2 best teams in the country. However, if USC wins out, they absolutley should be in the title game. Blew away the #5 Arkansas team, in Arkansas 50-14, wins over Cal, Oregon, Nebraska, Notre Dame, and they barely lost to Oregon State. It will either be Michigan or USC.

If USC goes again that's simply AMAZING. No Bush, no Leinart, and you still go to the national title game for the 4th year in a row with a first year starting QB wow.

Let's say Cal holds up tonight...

...then USC beats Notre Dame next week...

...and LSU beats Arkansas next week...

    ...and Arkansas wins the SEC...

    ...it's Michigan.

Of course I picked Notre Dame (as much as i hate them...I think they'll win next week, but I hope they don't.

I'd like to see Arkansas in the title game, but USC too.

They are playing like sht tonight, if they manage to win this one, they will lose to Notre Dame. People may not like them, but you watch, the Irish are gonna sneak into that game. You think today's shootout was good, wait till those offenses get together. Smith, Ginn, Gonzalez, Pittman vs. Quinn, Samardzija, McKnight and Walker.

I'm going to say Texas Tech. Sure, they're a long-shot, but the way the BCS is run, they might find a formulaic way to slip in there.

Speaking of which, anyone know a good hacker?

Did Cincy just beat the #7 team or a smoke and mirrors team? Same old Rutgers.

it isn't the same old rutgers but it was smoke and mirrors. lots of close wins over mediocre teams. not that we are great, but we wouldn't get run by cincinatti.

USC just beat Cal, if they win out against ND and UCLA...they will get the call.

Didn't they actually not play in the National Title game 4 years ago? Weren't they kind of just "declared" co National Champs with LUS?

Well, LSU was the Official BCS Champs. USC topped which ever poll wasn't forced to vote with the BCS title game. USC definitely deserved a chance to play for the championship that season. If I remember right, LSU beat an OU team that didn't even make it to the Big XII title game. Still, in my book, the REAL champs were LSU. It kind of annoys me that people talk about USC winning it all that year without at least mentioning LSU.

OK, right. That's what I really don't understand. The BCS thing, while screwy and not always agreeable to everyone, was put into place to have a clear national championship game and winner.

I thought that whole thing about "declaring" national championships went out the window.
