Hopefully Rafer, the pass first PG, compensated that with 5 blocked shots.

First, YAO is not on D. Look at his defense and TD's you will see the difference. TD like player... means you have at least 2 NBA champ rings, final MVP.......

Yes, I was hard on YAO tonight, only because I want to see he can carry this team to beat elite teams in this league. Hard doesnt mean hate.... His TO has been a problem this year and he needs work on it. Like 2 years ago, he said something like " I will make my OTs down to 2 per game" and he did in that season, if my memory is correct.

    So there you have it.

Yao leads our assists with 4, while Billups and Hamilton has 9 and 8 assists each.

Any chance we can kidnap a real point guard from another team.

Although I had been keeping a close eye on the boxscore during the game, I couldn't believe what I saw after I just took another look at it a minute ago.

Yao led team the team in almost every statistical category of this game, good or bad:

    - minutes played !!
    - field goals attempted (2nd in FGs made)
    - free throws attempted and made
    - offensive, defensive, and total rebounds
    - assists !!!!
    - TURNOVERS !

Damn, I hope JVG doesn't shorten Yao's career by overplaying the big fella.

Zboy is pretty much the only reason I continue to read the game thread after a tough loss like tonight's.

btw, Zboy, do you know what Battier's official motto is?

Battier...you get what you don't see

WHO is this r****d Zhao1109 anyway ?? Yao Ming killed the game in 4Q after being the star player of the whole Rockets ??

I wondered whether he saw/watched this game, particularly that 4th quarter.

Everyone was shut down....and Yao Ming got the scarciest supply, with his team mates failing to pass him the rock.

Just the fact that he scored 17/20 FT% by end of 3Q, and failed to get even another chance to be stepping onto the free throw lines to break his career high free throw attempts/free throw made well demonstrated that he did not get alot of chance on the ball and into the paint.

It has to do with the guards. PERIOD. Just the fact that Yao Ming got 4 assists, the highest assists # amongst Rafer Alston, Luther Head and even Tracy McGrady will tell you...........our guards were completely shutdown tonight.

Its strictly to do with the way how Rafer and Head play the PG spot, they are essentially half-court carriers.

They carry the ball up to half-way line and pass to T-Mac, THATS ALL THEY DO AT PG. Then they wait around for the spot up 3. Its like our PG position is non-existent, and we have 2 SGs, while our SF plays the PG.

Man, that Mike James thing is really biting us in the a$$ hard, forget about a "pass-first pg", thats BS. We need a PG that can put up his own shots, when teams are just doubling Yao and T-Mac.

Also, see how teams are just leaving Snyder open, daring him to shoot the three (which he misses), man...

Yao is not Duncan. Rockets as a team played badly, could not execute plays. Stop focusing on Yao and his stats and stop dreaming Yao is Duncan or whoever.

Look, look people, lets not argue with each other, just drop this whole thing, kiss and make up.

Save your anger for Juwan Howard's Statline and Shaq's knees, which caused Juwan Howard's Minutes ....

When you have McGrady on your team, it's a bunch of BS to keep insisting on a "pass-first" PG.

What every team needs -- what we're desperate for -- is 'creators', i.e. guys that can create their own shots in a 'stagnant' offense similar to the Rockets'.

We need more scorers, guys that don't need to be 'set up' by McGrady or Yao to do something, guys that can survive when Yao and/or McGrady are double and triple-teamed by opponents.

You don't have to have a player like that at every position, but you DO need at least one or more on the court outside of McGrady who can either effectively get Yao the ball and occasionally create his own shot.

We were all hoping that Bonzi would play that role, or that Battier would occasionally step up and deliver on offense when we need him to. However, Battier is clearly not that type of a player, and Bonzi is rotting on the bench.

There is still quiet some way for this team to go and quiet a few things to improve on -- including 'upgrades' at one or more positions.

We don't need a bandwagoner like these people. When Yao did good, these people jump on his d!ck and get a high. When Yao did a so-so job, these suckers can't wait to jump off the wagon and declare 'I have nothing to do with Yao'. These Chinese are sick!
