We will be the laughing stock in NBA if we continue our poor performace late in the game.

Here's the strategy that all the rest of teams will know how to beat us:

As long as we don't trail Houston too much late in the game, as long as we tighten our denfense a little bit on the 2 bigs, as long as their coach JVG doesn't lose his mind by making big changes on rotation players, they will fold easily and we will prevail.

What I see is that the bulls and the Pistons copied what the Spurs did to the Rockets and Jeff has not been able to make adjustments.

Only under 2 circumstances that Jeff would play Vspan and Novak,

    1, We have a 50 points lead, 40? no.
2, We are 50 points behind, 40?, still no.

Nights like this, we could use some of Mike James or wait Bonzi Wells if he is in shape.

I don't think he was out of gas, I think the rest of the team let the Rockets down.

In the fourth quarter the opponent is going to deny your first and 2nd options (Yao and Tmac) and it is up to the rest of the team to make enough plays to make them pay for this strategy.

Tonight.....the rest of the team would have been sitting at any YMCA around the country cause they would not be good enough...even for NEXT !!

    We need Hayes.....
We need JVG to shut the FRACK up and play Wells
We need JVG to realize that V-Span is a 25 year old internationaly experienced PG who plays with passion and smarts
We need JVG to realize that he has one of the best shooters that the Rockets have ever had...nailed to the bench.

JVG's stubborness is one of the biggest problems on the Rockets....early season is a time to play everyone and find out what kind of team you have....

JVG is playing only a few and in V-Span's case, I don't think JVG will even give him a sniff because he has stated he did not even want him over here.

Hey, if Rockets keep playing this way, you can also say "teams like utah and houston aren't gonna stay around long on the top...

as my previous post said: I don't blame YAO although he killed the game. JVG didnt change his game plan to let TMAC take over.

good posts - agree with all you said. It must be getting bad when a very reasonable and level headed guy like you is getting angry and frustrated.

Morey are you watching your coach and analyzing his stats?

that's ridiculous. you are so biased.

This game just showed how important Hayes is for the Rox.

He had 8 turnovers and was 1-4 from the field in the fourth quarter. That's nitpicking?

Yao had a great Fantasy night. In terms of making winning plays in crucial moments of the game, you can't say he played well. I'm not gonig to give him a pass on this one. My expectations for him go beyond putting up good numbers. He isn't carrying the team when it matters, and that dissapoints me.

It's harder to execute when the defense knows exactly what you're trying to do, and you can't make the appropriate adjustments.

I never said Yao was the sole reason we lost. In fact, I explicitly said that Alston and Luther were running the team like crap. So take the blinders off.

A 9-man roster with 4 players so inconsistent: RA, JH, SP, LH + no PT for Vspan, SN, BW - that's why our 4th quarter sucks. Sometimes you'll be amazed how stubborn a coach can be!!!!

You have to give credit to Detroit for this win and not single out any one Rox for the loss. Detroit turned it up a notch defensively during the critical time in the 4th when the game was tied, their man on man defense was smothering, they were in the passing lanes making it tough to make passes, they denied penetration, they were very active and did a nice job on the Rox.

FG 1 out of 5 and at least 2-3 TOs and good enough to kill the game
