Looks, Detriot is a good team, so a loss at their gym is not that hard to accept.
Tonight, down the stretch, their D showed up and their scrubs out performed ours.
Can JVG uses some adjustment, like putting in Vspan, absolutlely, our scrubs are just not that reliable. One night they will go off and the other they will make bone headed plays.
Tmac and Yao need to step up to be the one to put the ball in the basket, I dont care who and how.
We are half step away from being a real good ball club. Look forward to the development.

you can add 8 TO also and make it a-almost-triple-double. YAO killed this game in the 4th.

During the meltdowns I would send Novak in with instructions to fire away. Might as well go down shooting, and if he hits several threes, we might actually get back in it. Why not, what's to lose when the team is losing the game anyway?

That's exactly why I said earlier in this thread that I would MUCH rather have Yao and others take over offensively for the first 2-3 quarters, with McGrady picking and choosing his shots here and there, but not carrying the majority of the offensive load like he did in the first half.

McGrady just doesn't have the stamina (especially after such a long lay-off he had) to play all-out for four quarters. Same goes for Yao.

We MUST do a better job of surrounding these guys with people that will actually help out once in a while on the offensive end.

I am sorry, but say what you want about their weaknesses in this game or their perceived shortcomings, but I can't possibly blame this loss on 111.

I know they're the easier target because they're the superstars, but if we actually watch the game and dig a bit deeper beyond the 'copout' bashing of our two star players, we will see that it isn't all on those two guys' shoulders.

Two players, no matter how great they are, do not make a team...

    From my oint of view:

-Criticizing Yao, is definitely unfair! If you paif attention to this game, you would hae noticed that the other 4 on the floor are always trying to pass to Yao. It is so easy for our opponents to predict our game and adjust their defence to Yao. Thanks to Yao that he kept as alive for such a long period.

    -Where the hell is McGrady???

-Alston and Head can neither defend nor organize our offence: Alston runs the floor, stops far away from the arc, runs towards a teammate to give him the ball. WOW (sarcasm!). Head takes the ball, dribbles unnecessarily and just dares to pass the ball towards a teammate standing half a mter in front of him.
THIS IS NOT WHAT A PLAYMAKER IS SUPPOSED TO BE!
So what is the reason for Alston to get so many pt? For his 3 threes pg???

-Yao is doubled and tripled. Where is our accurate shooter???

-Except for Snyder, we have no guard to penetrate, get the charge!

    My conclusions:
-Give Spanoulis pt to organize the game, to defen and to penetrate.
-Give Novak pt for the open shot!

It can't get worse! This team will definetely not be a championship contender this year. We should be happy if we reach the PO. By giving our both rookies pt, we have the hope to develop a perfect team claiming seriously the championship within the next 3 years!

reward bad players with more minutes and gave no opportunities to others who deserve a chance to try............that's the way how JVG motivates his players.

JVG's game plan at 4th q. works greatly again today. My hope for this team fades quickly after only ten games.

6-4 is still a good record to start the new season consider rox can get much better chemistry-wise.

Yeah, only blind people can't see 16 rebounds, 4 assists, and 17-20 freethrows. Oh yeah, if you want to nitpick, you can pick on him when he had 35/17/7, but hey he didn't have enough steals.

Predictable offense? Please enlighted me, which team in NBA history throws out new offensive schema every game or even every season? It's never about surprise, it's only about execution.

In a loss, when your 2 point guards had more fouls than assists; when one of your POWER forward had 0 point and 0 foul for 24 minutes, and another one with 4 points and 2 rebounds in 17 minutes, if you can't see where the problem is and blame the guy who fought hard in the paint and went 20 times to the FT lines, you have much bigger issue than lacking of basketball knowledge.

Tigermission, it is obvious that this team STILL does not have the right mix of role players, and this has been a problem since the TMac trade. The year before last team got the benefit of several player's "last best year." Barry, Sura, Wesley, Mutombo et al made for the best season under JVG. Before or since, the role players still aren't quite the right fit. Hayes, however, may be one that fits. I believe Battier will fit, but our guards are a problem.

I watched part of this game.

Please, do not blame our role players. They are paid much less than STARS you guys are expecting them to be.
Please do not our twin stars. They are trying their best. For whatever shortcomings they have, we knew them before we handed out the contracts.

The reason we are choking is because our offense relay too much on Tmac and Yao. When they are denied the ball, our team looks like a chicken running without it's head. Is it coaching, I don't know....

Cancel and delay all games until Hayes is better, Bonzi is slimmer, and Novak and Billy have enough practice time to learn VG's defense. Then sit Jho and Padge and cut some others minutes.

That game was very winnable. And Gundy doesn't even try to adjust.

Jho 0-4 no D, Padge 1-4 lots of fouls.

If we are so good at defense why don't we ever do the swarming defense to our opponents like Detroit just did to us?

I am sorry but Novak could not possibly a liability on D vs who he would be replacing. Same for Billy. And our 3 guards Rafer, head and Snyder shot 7-21. Hard for Billy going to the rack to shoot worse.

And Juwan and Padge shot 1-8. That would be a nightmare night for Novak.

Watching this poor decisionmaking is like getting a root canal for 3 weeks without a pain reliever.

VG trying to get energy and movement out of tired players again. What a coach.

That's why this game hurts me so much. If we want to go to another level, we need the superstar TMAC, like 2 years ago in the playoff. He only played 18 mins before went to 4th and he supposed to dominate the game, just like KOBE did last night! But TMAC couldn't! This really scare hell out of me.
