http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/sports/16024470.htm Good on his part, it's a shame that stuff like that happens. OT, the author appears to think guns are the problem....stay away from guns....like violent people wouldn't be violent without gun access.
great thing iversons doing here.... i know hes had his issues but overall he's been a great guy and ive always been a huge fan of his.
Man thats a touching story. My respect meter went up further for Iverson. He's really changed and developed into IMO a better person during his years in the league.
same with shoes man, in NYC people get jumped all the time over shoes. if shoes and jerseys didnt cost $150, that would lower crime rate, not gun control.
Show me a country where guns aren't as readily available and I'll show you a country where the murder rate/rate of violent crime is dramatically lower. At the very least, there will be less accidental deaths of innocent bystanders and such because how often do you hear of someone being accidentally strangled, bludgeoned or stabbed to death? Guns may not be the cause of violence, but it's impossible not to acknowledge that they sure make violence a whole lot easier.
Let's break it down further. States in the US where gun laws are especially strict, have a higher percentage of gun related fatalities. States that promote responsible gun ownership, have the LEAST amount of gun related fatalities.
I thought about doing that, but this seemed the wrong forum to go too far into depth on that tangent. He made a small pro-gun comment, and I couldn't resist coming back anti-gun, but I tried to keep it simple and small for merit of the fact this isn't the right place for that discussion. Incidentally, after reading the article - I don't think it was putting blame on guns at all. Clearly the victim spoke out against guns, but the tone of the article seemed more aimed at violence than guns.
