People tend to use the word Idiot when their brains become dry and have nothing useful to say.

Yes and no. As men age we can still continue to add muscle mass well late into life but at the same time there is a lot of wear and tear on joints that don't recover fast or even at all. NBA basketball isn't a sport where one can dominate purely on strength since you still have to make it up the court and get in position that requires quickness and lateral movement two things that are lost as you get older. NBA atheletes are superbly conditioned and some can retain those abilities longer than others so Deke can still play but at the sametime the Deke now is nowhere near the Deke 10 years ago and at most is only effective for short time periods.

Fatigue has always been one of Yao's problems but that is a natural consequence of being 7'-6" and 310 lbs. While he is getting better fatigue will always be an issue even if you pay him $50 million per game. That doesn't mean he's a bust but just that both he and the coaching staff need to know how to play him in a way that maximizes his energy reserves.

You can pays someone any amount of money but that doesn't mean that translates into them being able to do something. If someone were to pay you a million a week to run a marathon a week its doubtful you could do that.

Ha ha. I remember the days when Yao sucked because he didn't face up and take enough jumpers. Now he doesn't back it in enough.

    Another post-game day!

What's his normal playing time when he plays for Chinese Olympic team?

I'm not talking about one week of running, just barely an hour, 48 minutes. I can do that and instead of getting paid with milliions, i'm the one who spends 10 bucks to be able to play non-stop basketball.

Man I dont really know what you are talking about

Are you jealous that Yao is getting paid millions to play

while you have to pay 10 dollars???

barely 48 minutes??? against guys on steriods who can dunk on you if you blink??

sieorusly you are under estimating the standards and toughenss of NBA

I dont know what Basketball you play..but it probably involves zero contact

I'm not talking about dunking or shooting the ball, just plain running basketball for 48 minutes. Is that hard to understand or you're having a hard time reading plain english?

This highwire guy is so stupid. He's been owned left and right from more than half of the posters here but it's like he has SELECTIVE READING . He only reads the post that he can EASILY reply a stupid comment but when it comes to post with CONCRETE EVIDENCE with STATS to prove him wrong, he ignores it and looks for other post he can reply to.

Dude, 20/12 for an off night is REAL GOOD. Compare Yao's stats to Big Ben's stats. Yao>>>> Big ben. He even out rebounded him.

Only reason why he looks weak is b/c compared to his average night(30 points off triple teams), 20 points off a slow night looks horrible. I honestly don't think 99% of players would complain about having a 20/12 night.

Incorrect!!!!!!!!!! Yao Ming this season is relying upon jumpers and hook shots for the majority of his shot attempts. There must be a definite reason why he is doing this after last season, where he realized that he plays his best when going STONG to the basket. I don't know the reason but suggest it is one of two things: a] he is trying to improve his outside shot, b] he is giving more time to his injured foot to strengthen and by playing away from the basket he is avoiding it being stepped upon.I have seen virtually every Yao /Rox game.

What's wrong with Rookies? Being a contributor doesn't make you a Stephen Smith on this board.
