Put 'em in the money shot...they'll look good on tv and will be right in the heart of the arena giving them maximum presence.
Beside #4 JVG, that surely describes Los Angeles, ESPECIALLY traffic. I've not gone to the games the Rockets have come to town the past couple seasons solely cuz of the aggravating traffic. Atlanta, definitley a bad sports town. I also believe just cuz a city is large and as a huge population does not automatically qualify it as a good and loyal sports town. Green Bay doesn't have multiple sports in its city but those people support the team they do have rain or shine.
ya. my buddy works at toyota center..and he told me the same thing. those idiots buy the tickets and dont come. u cant do much about it. i wish they would move everyone who has a ticket on the "non tv side" to the empty tv side. makes it look much better.
dude, what do u want ppl go to there for? pay for watching a suck game? without watching it, I ould have a good mood. once watching, i am really pissed off.
The lower bowl seats on the sides are the biggest problem. It's not only because the suits that can afford them (starting at $200 ticket) don't show, but the large clubs behind those sections keep large numbers of them out of their seats as well. Half of these people are legit supporters of the team, but half couldn't care less and are happier to be in the quieter, more social-friendly club room. You can't put the Rowdies there for a few reasons: a) they're already sold out b) the tab for buying the tickets for the Rowdies goes from ~$6100 to over 31 grand. Those tickets aren't tax write offs for JVG and T-Mac. c) The Rowdy section has the PR staff walking on eggs shells as it is with pissed off prisses sitting in the same sections. Like it or not, they're NOT going to upset the even more prissy high dollar customers. d) They can't allow real fans to take unused seats (officially) during games, as it's upsetting to those who paid hundreds of dollars to have seat jumpers invade their section. Again, you don't upset your big dollar clients. Ever. This is a business, and winning the championship does not pay the bills. Yes the high dollar golf clapping sucks the life out of TC. They sold their souls for profit with the lower bowl price map. It sucks, but it is what it is. The Rockets badly need to re-evaluate the lower bowl premium seats to figure out a way to keep them filled. Evan
I know, it was amazing. If only NBA League pass came in HD. Wow. I wouldn't go watch a game when I could see it on HDTV on my 42 inch plasma - it's just like being there except better!
Yeah, Houston couldn't sell out even during the playoffs in their first championship run. Well - of course, that was my first thread on here - that Houston was a fair-weathered city and well, not many people remember that. But it is.... Although....I do remember that 88 or 89 series against Seattle...back in the summit - man did it get loud in there. Yeah, Houston is a fair-weathered city...but hey, fans on the BBS are alright - so go to the game...I would buy season tickets if I lived in Houston.
I had season tickets when I was a kid, we went to almost all the games every year, but after the won the championships, the prices have been skyrocketing. We had to let them go in 1997 cause they were too damn expensive. The price of our season tickets more than tripled. Places like the astros games are much cheaper. you can sit in the front five rows, behind the dugout for under $50 bucks.
Don't worry about it. Seats were empty because ppl were out camping for their PS3 and Wii or playing Gears of War. After they get thru playing it for a while they'll be back.
Houston sucks not only as a sports city, but also a a whole city. I do not mean the people sucks, but just the city sucks.
