I fear where this may lead... _____________ Seen in space ... KFC's logo captured by an orbiting satellite KFC's new face seen from space By LUCY WATERLOW November 14, 2006 KFC today became the world’s first brand visible from outer space. The fast food company have created a 87,500 square feet version of their founder, Colonel Sanders. The stunt has been staged to celebrate a revamp of their logo. It is only the third time in 50 years the logo has been changed. And in case you're struggling to spot the difference - in the new version the colonel wears an apron. The giant logo was created in the Nevada, near the secretive Area 51. It was made by a team of 50 designers, engineers, scientists, architects and other professionals using one-foot by one-foot painted tile pieces. The new look colonel will be replace the old logo in more than 14,000 KFC restaurants across the world over the next five years. Kind of a silly marketing technique. They should do something more creative......like changing the lyrics to a U2 song.
Yeah, great marketing. I guess they're targeting the 'astronauts in outer space' demographic, all 20 of them.
So did "The Nevada" (as opposed to all the other knockoff Nevadas) hire the same marketing firm to handle their PR as "The" Ohio State University?
Near Area 51, huh?? Obviously, this was done by KFC loving space aliens, and the federal government is covering it up by portraying it as a marketing ploy by KFC.
I liked it better when it was "Kentucky FRIED Chicken." <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_p8NlHemR9g"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_p8NlHemR9g" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Yeah, they changed that when all those restaurants started adding "Grill" to the end of their name. As if it is not still obvious they are a fried chicken place.
I wonder what the Colonel would think about his restaurants being half KFC half Taco Bell or Pizza Hut?
Don't forget their short-lived run of commercials: "Billy - you've lost weight! What's your secret?" "KFC! - high protein, low carbs"
