Again this game proved JVG is not a good coach, even below the average.

lol SHUT UP! the players did NOT execute and SA played amazing defense. yao was 7-21 tonight. he hits 2 more and we're in the game. period. yao played like crap, and we still almost won. not to mention we didn't have hayes and wells hasn't made his way into the lineup. we're fine. shut up.

I didn't watch the meltdown in the 4th until the last 5 minutes. But wtf I do agree Van Gundy how did he lose 20-2 run??? Ever heard of slowing the game down? and feeding yao for fouls while we were ahead?? Yao is a terrible rebounder since he's such a big guy. I saw all his contested rebounds being taken by the spurs players or rafer alston.
I knew without looking at the stats that they were outrebounded. That's the only way to lose 20 point lead. And then I saw yao losing all these contested rebounds and only had a total of 6 reboounds which revealed how bad a rebounder he really is.
I knew that we would miss Chuck Hayes..he usually gets all the contested rebounds..this loss was embarassing..

So here's another reason I cringe everytime the rockets lose. Crappy threads with poor grammar start popping up all over, started by guys with names like buttmouse, turdbeetle, flyant, walktermite, and halloiamfromchinayaoming@!.

    Give this LossTO JVG!

For all the JVG lovers, the loss to the Spurs goes to him and his refusal to keep his team focused on defense and offense. Can he not try sometnhing that might work when we are getting killed? He fails to effectively use the depth we have on the bench...He keeps using Padgett and Howard, but does not show one ounce of innovation in trying to stop the bleeding on the Spurs run. Why not at least try Novak? How'bout some energy and hustle with Kill Bill? No, doesn`t even call the appropriate TIME OUT!? Flame me , ban me, I don`t care because losses like this have his name all over it!!@

theres no reason to put in vspan novak in this type of situation against a 3time world champs that would have been brutal..but i do put most of the blame on van gundy for sure his substions was awful snyder should have got more burn but i didnt like how van gundy did that in the second half

    See, I disagree.

If the players on the floor are giving up and not competing, you put in other players.

Popovich did it when the Spurs got down 19, he emptied his bench and WALLAH, they got back in because the players on the court were playing a hungrier brand of basketball.

JVG should have taken out the panzies...sat them down....let them watch for a minute and then put them back in.....

This team needs a heart transplant.

players didnt excute bc van gundy put in the wrong combo of players on the court and kept them in i think yaos problem was that the refs were not giving him obvious calls i guess if duncan and ginobili cry all game they will get their calls in the 4th quarter..and having hayes and wells shouldnt be discussed bc when you built a 19 point lead on the spurs without them you should be able to finish that game

But pop played players that have actually got minutes and some experience. puttin in vspan and novak that havent played in one nba regular season game would have put salt in the wounds and everybody complains about turnovers vspan would have definetly been turning the ball over against that defense. no loss is good but its not entirely bad because all the spurs did was expose the rockets of what i've been saying is their weakness.. and thats the rockets have no killer instinct they dont know how to finish games and this is only the 8th game so i say thats a good thing because that can easily be fixed and it would have matter if chuck and bonzi was there but when you have a 19 point lead that shouldnt matter if ne thing the rockets got out coached plain and simple and the refs were giving no love to yao.

psh whatever. battier couldn't hit a shot, tmac was doing what he could, head couldn't hit a thing, padgett missed everything, we COULD NOT REBOUND, alston dissapeared. who else do we go to guys? snyder? right. I'm not saying we played like that whole game, but during the run we had nobody.
