Any computer gurus (sadly I work in IT) know how to help? When i write audio Cd's using Nero and my DVD writer the Cd's often have skips on some tracks. I burn at 24X to try to prevent it but it does not help. When I use media player the problem goes away but the ID3 tags are not on the cd. I like them because they show up on my car stereo. Anyone know what is wrong with Nero or how to get the id3 tags to show up with media player?
Did you try pausing, stopping or shutting down some memory-intensive applications while attempting to run the recording software? Try disconnecting from the Internet, pausing your virusscanner and firewall, and then starting again. I've had glitches because the processor is doing so many things at once.
turn off all other applications, uncluding antivirus. Write it at 16 as a test then go from there. and try: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLJ,GGLJ:2006-32,GGLJ:en&q=nero+skips
Try slowing down the write speed even further. There are some inconsistancies with cd burners and readers. I have found best success with writing audio CD's at slower speeds. The drawback is that it takes longer to write them but the success rate in which the tracks come out on the cd is much higher. Also I agree with other suggestions of turning off some apps and the Internet while burning cds. Also I would try to do nothing else but burning on the PC during the process.
Are you guys serious? Turn everything off? I feel like it is 1998 when I had my first burner. I have a gig of ram a dual core processor. This blows.
