I love the win, love Yao's domination. However, this team in order to contend is going to need a much more servicable Tmac. He's makin 20 million a yr, superstar money, and he is not living up to it. What is going on with Mac? He can't even get by defenders on drives. He is really slow, no ft attempts, to many jumpers with not much elevation. This is the first time Mac has really been losing confidence in his game. I really love that he was our playmaker in the 4th qtr, but man i really get envious when i see how other 2guards are dominating right now. Tmac has got to put in some extra hours in practice on his jumper, and do some sprints to get some quickness back.

While I agree that he does not look like the old Tmac, did you even watch the 4th quarter? He completely dominated the game with his penetration and passing. The stats don't tell the whole story. His outside jumper is off, but when he attacks the basket, he was able to make a lot of plays.

tmac in the fourth was amazing. i think he scored maybe only 4 points or so but he had about 6-7 assists in the fourth alone finding everyone. and if he wasnt making the assist he usually made the pass that lead to the pass to the assist because of his pentration.

listen this guy hasnt really played ball since what march or so? the guy will need to get some time into playing shape he still looks a bit heavier to me than what he usually plays at. He needs to get used to the contact the traveling and everything again. Come january or so if he is still consistently putting up 12-14 point games than there would be a cause for concern unless the rockets are winning the games. Right now he is making plays out there which is what you want your superstar to do. Making plays isnt necessary scoring all the points, but making sure the points are being scored. My rough estimate is that tmac was responsible for 18 points in the fourth with his own baskets and assists which was more than the entire heat scored in the fourth.

There is definitely some of that, but most of it is a culture thing. Todays' NBA culture is all about highlight dunks, bad attitude, that's what sales. A fundamentally sound player like Yao just doesn't fit that prototype the league has been trying to build.

I agree with you. I originally think Zach Randolph will be the POW this week, but Portland lost today.

I wonder if ESPN will replay the game again late night, like they usually do.

But after that sound thrashing their boy Shaq got, I am not sure it would be in their best interest.
