I have not seen anyone putting A&M as clear favorites over Texas ... Even on the A&M message boards you don't see homerism making them clear favorites over Texas. We all are just happy to be in the same class. The only thing that makes us a little bit of favorites is because we have experience coming back that has been successful. We all realize with the talent Texas has coming in, they will be tough to beat, but at least we have reason to be optimistic for once, which is all we can ask.
man that is the thing that ticks me off the most. if we can't beat those teams, then we are simply settling for being mediocre.
LOL - I went to Texas State for my undergrad work...dummy !!! UT Grad school, rocks ! However, I do believe anyone can be a fan without attending the school. I like A&M, I just think they are way overated, and I was at SWT when Fran was our coach......he is a good coach, but his recruiting is suspect. DD
Many of us Aggies knew we were overrated as well with our creampuff schedule ... You got Fran all wrong ... He is a horrible coach ... his recruiting has been pretty good over the years, but his system/coaching decision are TERRIBLE. He basically rode a couple good years by Ladanian Tomlinson to millions of dollars.
Actually he is a great coach when running the triple option....I don't know why he is not instituting it at A&M, it is what he knows....and it works. DD
He's been running the triple option for 3 years and it has worked at times, but the real problem is with his decision making and not using the tools he has. Also, he has shown that he doesn't know how to read a 2 point conversion chart, nor count in the past few years.
I still say the aggies will beat Texas. Hell, Texas just lost to an unranked Kansas State, needed a fumble in the final seconds to beat Nebraska, and barely squeaked by Texas Tech thanks to a huge second half comback and some favorable calls, and they didn't even put up a fight against Ohio State. Why do you act like Texas is so great? By what they have shown on the field this year, they clearly aren't. Oh ya, I forgot, you go to school there, you're bias.

Exactly ... I'll be the first to admit that A&M should not have been ranked this year ... we've been WAY too inconsistent on defense, and the coaching has been horrible. i think we also have to admit that the big XII is horrible this year, and that includes Texas who should probably be the only Top 25 team in conference with that being more of a 20 ranking than a top 10 ranking. They have beaten no one (and barely at that).
