I'm an avid rox fan as the next guy in this board but... isn't it easier to bash other team's player than our own? I'm pretty sure our coaching staff know's our team than we (fans) do.

    Go rox...

Anyone who calls a player on our team garbage is worthy of the same dose themselves.

I know some of you "bashers" aren't the top performers all the time in your organizations. Shall we call you trash, too? Do you suck, as well? Probably.

Juwan Howard is a hard-working, consummate professional who just happens to be on the downside of a fairly decent career. He has accepted his demotion with grace and is good for a few spot minutes, which is all we need him for.

But that's OK, haters. You just go on 'bout your business hatin'. I just wish you would appreciate the players on our team- they do a good job.

    Sincerely,

    Ryan Bowen
    Derrick Chievous
    Buck Johnson
    Matt Maloney
    and
    Derek Anderson

Novak is going to get time to show his stuff but keep in mind. JVG is trying to find out about his team and various combinations. Novak and Billy will play as this team learns how to put teams away. The last two games should have been blowouts but we don't have that killer instinct yet and we're losing the 4th Qtrs leads early and allowing teams to cut the big lead thus putting more mileage on our starters and not letting coach clear his bench. I believe that will change after a few more games (7-10).

Ya'll need to quit crying about Juwon because he's going to play and he'll have good spurts and hit some shots and rebound...I've seen every game and I've seen him DO HIS JOB out there thus the reason why he's playing...his attitude and work ethic as also the reason and he's had to sacrifice his game and pride and minutes more than any other rocket right now and doing it with class...so give a brother a break!

Novak is going to play I really believe after about 15-20 games which gives him time to develop in the other areas and trust me, he's learning PLENTY from sitting right now and watching the game and spacing, and rebounding techniques, he's asking questions of the veterans. He's watching guys use dribble penetration to get to the rack and he's learning and will use that to get better. He has a great attitude and is working hard in practice and the wight room...the kid is going to become a student of the game and will play before long...

Speaking of students of the game, how sick was that vintage Hakeem move (from the 95 playoffs over D Rob) that Yao used on Curry lastnight??? Curry was forced to foul him instead of getting punked...again and again! :p

Juwan will finish this year with a very large negative +/- and a negative Roland Rating and a low PER. He used to be a stud, he turns 34 in a couple months and he has no gas left. He might have some court smarts but he can't make happen what he thinks in his brain - too slow, no hops.

    Juwan has no upside.

Novak and Vspan are rooks and have enormous upsides and could become strong 4Q contributors if JVG lets them. If history of his past seasons repeats itself then this opp will never happen.

My only hope is that Morey runs his stats including 4Q downturns and has a sitdown with Van Gundy and explains the need for some energy and fresh legs in the 4Q. And the fact that JHo does not provide that lift - but just the opposite.

LOL ... most of those court smarts, or "veteran moves" in Rockets' road game commentator Matt Bullard's words, are dirty little fouls out of Juwan's inability to play defense "straight up". Sooner or later they are gonna be caught by the refs.

we all know what he can do, we talked about this 100 times already

he fits the JVG mentality, he is a senior who will cheer and backup the young guys, remember last year vs Mike James, thats why he's still with the team, he is loyal, and thats what JVG likes

Juwan sucks. He can't shoot. He can't rebound. He's softer than the fluff in my pillow. Sure, he doesn't regress the team, but he does nothing. Novak/Wells would be better bets.

    Watching the HOU-MIA game:

I forgot how frustrating Juwan's mediocrity could be. That second quarter was just painful to watch. He literally did nothing, and Van Gundy continued to play him the entire quarter. I'd rather have had Padgett in there.

Hayes played well in the first quarter, and he go no virtually no PT in the second quarter. What the hell?

I don't know why these threads were deleted. It's just an example of how people jump the gun so quickly. It's honestly a crime to remove this thread but let "JVG is better then Phil Jackson" and "I'm better then Rafer Alston" stay. Those are completely ridiculous threads.

It's a general (but not strict) rule that we don't bump old threads. Reference them in a new thread or existing thread if you must. The problem now is people are just going to read the title and start screaming what a crappy thread this is as if it's some new thread, followed by 10 people saying "it's an old thread idiot", etc.

Going to close this one for now...

The threads weren't removed ... the new posts were.

I think the occasional bump of a year-old thread is relevant... IC2000 felt the need to bump three ancient Juwan threads. It's all public -- nothing's hidden... so I don't care if you reference anything from anywhere. Start a new thread about how Juwan has turned his rep around or something and expose past comments. Just don't bump all these threads to the top and bump current topics down.

After all, I don't think the board would be that fun of a place if I bumped all of you guys' "Give props to Rafer" (I through XXVIII) threads after each "Rafer Night".
