    GB Rocksfan,

Do you get your video tapes from Pontel too?

Oh yeah, I'm from Britain too and these are the only type of threads I seem to post on! :D

Certainly do! It´s a bit pricey, but once I started getting the games, I couldn´t stop... it´s nice to be able to judge people´s comments on certain players yourself. Wherabouts are you in the UK?

Hey Paul (GBRockets) and Cohen, thanks for the info. Maybe I can get one of those dishes that picks up US TV. I'll post back if I do.

Cohen. I grew up in Clear Lake. Graduated CLHS in '88. You?

Well I'm not international, but I do remember spending 3hrs every nite a couple years back to log onto Clutchcity.com during a vacation in Africa....everyone kept wondering what could have possibly possessed me to wait in line forever at this internet booth and use the slowest connections ever provided just to read about bball while on vacation - imagine if they had known it wasn't even the regular season!!

I live in St. John's, Newfoundland, which is as far east as you can get in North America.

The Rockets won me over during their first championship run in '94. I've been a huge fan ever since.

    Hey LA's #1 Rocket Fan....

I live in NYC right now, but I'm moving to Redondo Beach later this year!! In fact, going out there next week to look for a place. Too bad that you will no longer be LA's #1 Rocket Fan :)

And who are the announcers....I'll pay extra for Bill and Calvin:D

I'm from Brazoria county, I have been a diehard Rocket fan since they moved from San Diego. FYI- I was in Micronesia (western pacific islands) and found Rocket fans from the Marshall Islands:)

I lived in Taiwan until 16, moved to Singapore until I finished my bachelor's degree. I lived in San Jose, CA now.

I came across the term "clutch city" after reading Hakeem's book. Then I found this site. Not too much NBA on TV in Singapore, so I turned to Clutch every day. I am surprised not to see a Taiwanese here, since they love NBA so much. Phillipines and Taiwan are the two places that are most crazy about basketball in East Asia.

Wow, great to see so many international Rockets fans. Reading some of these posts reminds me of when I (a native Houstonian) first started trying to follow European club football, er, soccer. It has gotten alot easier with the internet and Fox Sports World. Anyway, I hope following the Rockets gets easier for you international fans.

Great Thread. Everyone should weigh into this.

My very large family is second generation from Ireland and I lived most of my life in God’s Country – Nova Scotia, Canada (and still have most of my family, and a summer cottage there). I have worked all over the world it seems, and I have lived or worked in Kingston-Ontario, Montreal-Quebec (twice), LA, Minnesota, Florida, Venezuela, Netherlands Antilles (Bonaire), Houston, Cayman Islands and a couple of other sleepy towns …. er ….. jails/rest spots …. during my wandering years. It’s been a fun ride.

Moved to Texas a dozen years or so ago, and now live north of Houston as a professional consultant.

I was a Celtics fan back when Cousy was the best of the best. I really liked Zeke and the Pistons during their formative years too. Just loved the game they played. So uptempo and alive. Blue collar heart and all attitude.

But when I began listening to the California (San Diego) Rockets a long while back and then saw them play a couple of times I was done in. Cooked on their game. Man, Elvin Hayes’s game was inspiring. Talk about playing by the seat of your pants. Eventually grew to cheer Calvin because he was so eclectic and Mike & Rudy's drive exhausted me. They left everything on the floor. They were spent at the end of a game.

When the Rockets went to the finals against the Celts in the 80’s I was absolutely enthralled. What a year! Dang they were fun to watch.

Been a dyed-in-the-wool Rockets Red Glare ever since.

Hehe....bet there are no other Nigerians in Clutchcity.
I am Nigerian....born In Nigeria, Lived in England for 6 years then France for 2 years. Moved back to Nigeria with my Mom (Dad deceased). Started coming to the States on Visits in 1981 but was to much of a Soccer Fan to notice anything else.....Actually met Hakeem back in 1988 at the University of Lagos Nigeria while he was visiting a childhood friend of his (Dr. Taiwo) who was one of My Mum's Mentor's. I could not belive it when he walked into the office, I just thought he was so freaking tall. I learnt that he played ball and that led me to check up on the Rocks and hence became an Instant Fan. He was so Humble too...you would have thought he was some regular dude they Dr. Taiwo was cracking up on him....he would just laugh anfd laugh. Anyways thats how I became a Rockets Fan. :D

Whoa. I can see I'm gonna have to cool it with the jokes about Persians, Poles, and big Irish families.

    Swopa,

I live in Berkeley, CA too. I drive past that Nuclear Research sign everyday. It's really odd since the one I see is in a residential area a few miles from campus. Anyway, I guess I should change my username to UC_Rocket.

I think it's funny a thread about international fans has turned into an offseason role call about where we all live.
