    Same reason you don't see a real shot of the T. Rex in the original Jurassic Park trailer. Don't want to give the monster away for free.

    Plus, most speculation points to his appearances in this film only being used to build for a bigger role in part four.

    That makes the most sense as Spidey will have his hands full w/ Sandman and Harry. Plus, how can you get to Venom if you don't establish a backstory for Eddie Brock first, which would seem to take a lot of the movie to do (at least to do right).

    So base on the trailer is venom another seperate character or spider-man's alter ego?

    Venom is a result of the alien 'symbiote' (the living suit you seen falling on Spiderman) merging with Eddie Brock (he's the blond photographer dude you see in the trailer) after being rejected by Spiderman. The Brock/Symbiote combination is Venom.

    Saw this at the superherohype boards earlier this morning and was gonna post it here, but didn't get a chance to.

    That is a badass (though unfinished) trailer. Wish thay had made this the official trailer (though there's a good chance it may have been "leaked" to mitigate negative reactions to the official one).
