What does neoconservatism have to do with any of this - other than being a negative catchphrase for the politically ignorant?
The point remains that this thread was not started as an let's out Mehlman thread. Noted conservative IROC IT brought that up. Still, why is it not a big deal when people speculate or even joke about the possibility of a celeb being gay, even if they are trying to keep their private life private, but it's horrible to speculate about the possibility or even talk about it when a conservative who supports anti-gay policy in public forums turns out to be or could possibly be gay???
The Mehlman didn't deliver last Tuesday ......would be just a refinement on the joke. I think the powers behind the Republican party are posturing away from Bush and getting ready to try the Reagan revolution #2 tactic. Dick Armey is the perfect foil for Howard Dean.
Yes, I did "bring it up." It was just a guess as to the timing of this stepping down story. It's just a little too co-inky-dink to me. Perhaps it has zero to do with it, but my guess is that it's a somewhat "pre-crap-hitting-the-fan" measure, calculated to avoid more scrutiny from the press/Dems aimed at the GOP... if he steps down before the storm... perhaps it somewhat lessens the effect? I don't know.
