    Hardware sales:
    DS 360k
    PS2 235k
    360 218k
    GBA 169k
    PSP 130k

About the same as last month. I remember some analysts saying the 360 would do 400K+ in October, but that certainly isn't the case. It needs to pick things up these next two months, or else it might be in a bad position after the Wii and PS3 launch (primarily because of the Wii, most likely). Considering the amount of love Gears of War is getting though, Microsoft should have a nice holiday season.

Oh yeah, and as I say every month, the PSP needs a price cut....badly....even more so than the last time I said it needed one badly. :)

    Some various software sales...
Scarface for the PS2 sold the most at >300k (but under 400k). Splinter Cell for the 360 sold 200k+ copies (but under 300k). MK Armageddon for the PS2 sold 125+k. Bully sold 124k, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance for the 360 sold 94k, Saints Row sold 57k, Guitar Hero sold 61k, and that's probably all the notable game sales. Sales kind of sucked this month.

Do note that FFXII, NFS Carbon, and GTA:VCS were not included in the October sales (maybe some other games too, but those were the big ones). They went on sale in the last couple days of the month, so they'll be part of the November sales. Speaking of which, that will be one crazy month. Along with the titles I just mentioned, we'll get sales from the two newest video games consoles (PS3 and Wii) and their launch titles (Zelda and Resistance). We'll get info on how Gears of War sold (300K just from preorders alone already, second only to Halo 2 for Microsoft), as well as how that impacted the sales of the 360 itself (it could use a nice boost in sales). And the PSP will continue to stink it up at its current price. :)

Game related question but, probably off topic..

Anybody know how much better Hitman: Blood Money is to.. Hitman: Contracts? Just give me the basic rundown.. Graphics.. Gameplay.. possible new additions to the game (more weapons, improved kill options, improved stealth options).. and replay value.

On Topic : How good IS Scarface anyway? Is it a FPS? Third person adventure/rpg? all three?

And, what other entertaining open ended games would anyone here recommend for the Xbox/Xbox 360 ?

Haven't played either Hitman...or any Hitman for that matter.

Here is the Gamespot review for Blood Money (360 version):

    More in the review...

Scarface for the PSP is a turned-based strategy game (but it sucks apparently, 64 average rating at Metacritic). The console/PC versions are like GTA I think; the average rating for it at Metacritic is a 74 (still not all that great), but it seems like opinions vary on the game. A couple of notable reviewers gave the game a 85+ rating, while others (like Gamespot) gave it around a 65 or less.

For the 360, Saints Row sounded like a really nice GTA-clone (maybe even the best one actually). Just Cause also had some nice things about it too, but it also had some flaws I believe; I think it might be a budget title (budget meaning $40 IIRC), so it might be worth checking out. Not sure if Dead Rising is all that open-ended (seemed somewhat open-ended IIRC), but it is VERY entertaining if the gameplay videos are any indication. Then there's Oblivion of course... ;)
