Yeh right, Rockets' season will be saved by a couple of 2nd round rookies. Get real!

    Practice.

That is how most rookies make their way into the NBA - by improving in practice.

Novak simply does not have the strength or defensive skills to be on the floor every night. Charlie Palillo said it best today. He said that Novak will get out there in specific situations when they need shooting, but that he doesn't rebound and can't defend the four. So, he has to make his shots to stay on the floor even during those times.

Even Novak has admitted NBA players are stronger and faster than he expected.

Eventually, he'll get time on the floor, but like Spanoulis, they have rookie issues and until this team can get its rotations worked out and their veterans playing with chemistry, they will just have to sacrifice playing time.

I think they'll both get rotation time as the season moves along, but it really doesn't make much difference how well Novak can shoot if he is a significant defensive liability and, at this point, he is.

As for him being scarred, if a second-round draft pick can't handle getting sporadic minutes in his rookie season and is so devastated by it, he can't perform well, he doesn't belong in the NBA. Novak will be fine.

Without novak our team is not good shooting the 3 ball. Individual defense is overrated, no one can gaurd anyone else in the league due to the rules unless you are a scrub. He is money with the 3 ball and thats why he should be on the floor.

sure it is, but when you have a bunch of other players who also do not play defense really well, then you have a defensive problem.

I love threads like this -- it's fun counting how many people will waltz in with broken sarcasm detectors and just not get it. Heh.

    Not true.

We rank in the top 10 in three point shooting currently including T-Mac's horrid shooting to start the season at 38 percent. If you remove T-Mac's 4-17, we would be 41 percent tying us for 5th with Orlando.

If you assume that McGrady improves to the mid-30 percent range or even slightly below (his average the past few years has been around 33 percent), we'd still be near 40 percent shooting from distance placing us well within the top 10 in the NBA.

Considering the fact that we rank #3 in the league in three pointers attempted, ranking in the top 10 in percentage makes us particularly dangerous right now with or without Novak. Most teams would kill to be that accurate from beyond the arc while attempting as many as we do.

As the character he has shown us so far,

it's safe to guess he will respond naturally to 1st option here.

I think it wont affect him that much, since he wasn't expecting to play any significant minutes .. but I think he will most likely lose confidence because when u dont play games for a while, u just lose that touch..

btw, I didn't vote for "he will lose confidence", I voted for the third one (alcohol and whores).. because I thought it was hilarious..

Alcohol and whores  ... lmao :D

maybe we can change his nickname to : Novak on Crack

    hehehehe

the older it gets the funnier it gets, especially after we've all figured out that LB really does intentionally p... off his players. Hillarious.

    Ok, back to back Novak.

Assuming Novak doesn't have a girlfriend, an Xbox or a taste for stamp collecting, then the answer is obviously drugs, whores and alcohol. A guy's got to do what it takes to cope with the devastation, man..

On that note, I;m beginning to think that JVG is really trying to make sure his starting lineup is getting loads of playing time. With all the changes to the roster, I don't think this is a bad idea. Once the starters really click, then you can bring in some new guys to spell them more often.
