We are outrebounding opponents 40.7 to 38.7. ORB are 11 vs 10.3.

Assists are 21.3 vs 17.3 - this a passing team like we have never seen before.

    Steals are 9.7 vs 6.3.

    TO's are 16.3 vs 18.0

All good starts - hope the trends remain this way.

If Tmac and Bonzi can improve their FG% then we can get that above our opponents as well.

My summary would be this team moves well and is aggressive. Get Bonzi integrated and playing well, get Vspan on the floor more, and we could be holy terrors on defense disrupting other teams every night. If Sura can come back I think some people might be afraid of us by January, and I hope by May. :D

One stat that is not encouraging...1 Win 2 Losses. All those stats don't mean a thing if they aren't winning. That said, I'm excited about the season and when TMac comes around they are gonna be one tough team to beat.

agreed. we need tmac to be able to beat good teams in the west night in and night out. I think if we are at 12-8 at the 20 game mark then that will be stellar for how inconsistent we have started on offense and defense.

that being said...it's nice to see how well we are doing with the assists and turnovers.

Those are skeweed by one great game. I would rather have had 2 or 3 good games.

    One stats sucked

    2 loss, 1 win.

    That's the stats that matters.

Yeah, they lost with some potential that I agree. ;)

The individual stats are good, but as has already been mentioned, they are massively skewed by a single a$$-whooping that we handed out to the Mavs. If we had won that one by (for example) about 10 points, then those stats would not be anywhere near as impressive.

It will be great if they can improve on this level of play and see how they are travelling after 20 games or so.

this is why i think stats are overrated in sports today. great. you look great in stats. great. you've won 1 of the 3 games you've played. super. stat geeks would tell you you're doing just fine.

here's a novel idea. win the freaking game, ok? i don't care if you get outrebounded...if you end up upside-down on turnovers...just win. mmmmkay??

LOL at Larry Brown. If you think JVG is stubborn....can't wait to see what you think of Larry Brown.

Here's the Yao effect -- despite the horrible ownage we suffered at the hands of Carlos Boozer in Utah:

We lead the league in fewest opponent points in the paint, and it's not even close.

    1. Rockets - 25.0
    2. Magic - 31.3
    3. Hornets - 32.0
    4. Jazz - 34.0

Stats can tell you why you're LOSING. Quoting a good stat from a bad loss does not mean you're making justifications to still feel good about it.

    Woohoo!!
Hope Tmac continues to find his shots. He seems to be doing better today with his shots - at least the free throws. Crossing fingers and toes!! :D :D :D

Stat geeks would tell you that there is not enough information to extrapolate an 82 game season from 3 games. 3 games worth of stats may suggest it is not time to panic despite the 2 losses.

Hey, but the two losses are against the two teams with the best record in the league (4-0). That has to mean something.
