I thought it was interesting too. It does have some potential. I wonder if they have a web site? If they did, and we could look for clues and stuff that would be very cool. But even without a web site it was a good first episode. It's worth a second look. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Dude, I thought it was pretty interesting. I wanted to watch the downer channel too though. I thought the murder in small town X reminded me of Clue and The Mole mixed together. I will watch again this week. ------------------ Reporter asks "How close were you to the victim?" Shorty says,"Real close until the roofies wore off. Then she woke up talking about pressing charges, so I took my tongue out of her ass and left." Shorty - Marlon Wayans "Scary Movie" Go Rockets!!! SS
It was okay. I found it confusing and hard to follow, but I think that's only because I haven't gotten to know the characters or participants yet. It has potential, though, especially if they focus more on turning the show into a character study such as those found in "whodunnit" mystery novels, instead of putting the major emphasis on those cheesy challenges. Bottom line: If the show turns out to be like an interactive version of Clue, great. If it turns out to be Survivor with a New England mystery flair, not so great. It has potential, though, and I'll watch episode 2 at least. ------------------ All hail Fadeaway's Cyberfish -- your 2000-2001 BobFinn* Fantasy Basketball League Champions! Anyone still watching? I'm pretty into this show now... wish Jeff would get killed next though. I wasn't sure what to expect when this show started, but I think it's turned out very well. Anyway, if you watch this show, who do you guys want to win, and who do you think is the killer?
I'm out of the lopp, but not because I don't like it, I'm just never home to watch it. Is it a show you can pick up in the middle? Do they have a web site yet?
PSJ, www.fox.com/smalltownx I think you can pick it up since you saw the first episode, and generally know the plot and format of it. It may be a bit confusing at first, but you'll soon understand the suspects.
I missed the two episodes before this one, and I was only half-paying attention to last night's? Could anyone give a recap of the past few shows?
Is it to my understanding that Thibadeaux is no longer a suspect? Using my own deductive reasoning, at the end when the two contestants go to different locales the blonde was with Thibadeaux while the real killer was killing the other guy. The old one person can' t be in two places theory thus eliminating Thibadeaux as the killer. Right?
Iron, You'll see some form of recap on the website... honestly I can't tell you because I forget the exact order of the episodes. I know what's happened overall, but whether it happened in week 2 or week 4 I don't know. I can tell you about last night though... The 5 investigators left are Kristen, Jeff, Alan, Katie, and Angel. Kristen went out for the 4th time last night, and has come back every time. The odds are 1/2 every time that you will be killed, so the odds of making it through 4 times are 1/16! Awesome stuff, esp. since she's my favorite on the show. A lot of the investigators don't like her because at times she can be a little commanding, esp. Jeff, who wanted her killed last night. Jeff is an arrogant pretty boy model if you don't watch the show, and tries to preach all these things that he doesn't come close to doing himself. Anyway, last night, they got a tape of the phone records from Leita's house the night she was killed shortly after 11, and there was a call placed from her house at 11:15. The Reverend, still a suspect, had previously said he got a call on his answering machine from her that night at 10:15... however, they found out last night that his answering machine was actually an hour slow, so he was being called from Leita's house immediately after she was murdered! Also, another interesting thing was Mary Elizabeth was in a towel and at the Reverend's place when she answered the call about the time on the answering machine. Mary Elizabeth to me seems like she really wants Abby's role in the town of golden girl, and with the Reverend's personality toward women, I wouldn't be surprised if something were going on. She made out with Abby's boyfriend days after she was murdered (her boyfriend evidently pictured her as Abby, you'd have to see the tape to understand), and I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find her as the killer. There were three other main things. First, they found what they believe to be the murder weapon (in type, probably not the exact one). They saw Prudence Connor and Thibadeaux using and arguing over a "bangstick" twice, an instrument used to kill fish. It makes a very loud "gun" type sound when it connects with someone, and has horrific damage. It is the same identical sound that is on the original footage of the killings. Because they saw Prudence using it like a pro, she is obviously a greater suspect. Second, the diner owner Sam Larabee was pregnant from the journalist Frank, who was married. Apparently Leita had been spreading this in recent days, and Frank admitted to being at her house talking to Leita about 2 hours before the murder, so he's definitely a suspect. Finally, the man with the burnt face said on the videotape (killer's clue) that while everyone thought Oscar Blodgett's death was an accident, it was really a murder that he committed. Not sure what affect this has yet though... SSG, I assumed that too. I'm guessing the killer may have gotten to Thibadeaux first, or perhaps he just suffered some bad luck. Who knows? Anyway, that part worried me... I knew the odds of Kristen making it back 4 times in a row were slim... and since she's the hottest chick left, it would suck for her to get killed.
Don't forget that Nate Flint had been putting alot of money into offshore accounts. He then withdrew the money (about $250,000) the day before he was murdered. Also, I don't care if she's hot or not, Kristen is a hypocritical b****. From episode one, she took it so personal when she was chosen by the lifegaurd. She thought he was out to get her. Yet when she was the lifegaurd she didn't want anybody to take it personally when she chose them. She's annoying and can't stand to be wrong or challenged. Of course, TV can make you seem any way they want you to seem(personal experience.) Anyway, aside from that I like the show. There's only 2 episodes left and from the preview it looks like theres going to be alot of action in the next episode. If I had to take a stab at it right now I'd say its Kovick and that the murder of the Flints wasn't anything personal but an effort to frame somebody else. He'll give them "evidence" that he planted so it seems like somebody else did it. Just a guess. Besides some of the suspects like Hayden DeBeck and Rev. Crandall haven't been given solid motives yet although it looks like DeBeck will come more into the story next week. I'll be interested to find out the real story behind the sweepers.
Anybody see the last episode? I thought it was pretty good On a side note, from all the recapping they did on the show, I've missed ALOT. Hopefully I'll find a way to watch all the eps, it seems like a good show.
Off topic, but that black woman from the Downer Channel...I think her name is Wanda Sykes...is hillarious. She said something to the effect that before anyone can finish saying "that sucks", the skit will be over. I watched the show once, and yeah i agree that it sucks.
It was a good last episode. They had me fooled though... I could've sworn it was Kovick immediately after I heard the burnt man say his son was "too young to understand".
Yeah, it was a good last episode and overall the show was moderately entertaining. I thought it was Kovik as well, but that's probably because it was edited to make us all think that way.
Dang It, I watched the first 3-4 episodes and then stopped. How did it end? Who won and who was the killer? Anyone watch "Lost" or "Amazing Race" ??? The CBS show was pretty cool. Lost was kinda boring.
