Holy ... http://www.82games.com/0607/06HOU5D.HTM +55 net points per 100 possessions, +12.1% effective FG%. And that's just the beginning. Those are some jaw-dropping stats. Rudy who?
Rudy Gay 9 rebounds, 10 points Shane Battier averaging 1.5 rebounds so far in the season... This is stats that make us mile, so Steve Novak 2-2 shooting, Spanoulis 1-1. The rookies were perfect from the field tonight
That pass was freaken amazing and totally unexpected. Who would have thought rafer was gonna do a 180 in the air?!! But yeah he was great tonight.
OMG!! did you guys check out the nba.com page ??!??!!?? they have YAO as second to allen iverson in the scoring leaders column !!! i would never thought i would see that.....ha ha ha ha..i know i know...it's only 2 game into the season..but i take it while it last....ha ha ha ha
Yes, this is music to my ears. Seeing Cub*tch with the "huh, deer in the headlights look". Priceless. Man, it's early but Yao is turning into the rendition of the "beastmaster." 8-12 for 22 pts and 12-16 for 36 pts that's what I'm talking about. Booyah!
That's incredible !!! Imagine what happens should this trend continue or even widen in margin. I guess Battier really is the "master of the intangibles." Amazing!!!
And I'm pretty sure that's never been seen before in all of history. As great as guys like Kareem, Hakeem, Wilt and Bill Russell were, nobody wanted them shooting the team's technicals!
Everything went well for the team tonight, not just the rookies. I just hope they'll get to be used, even if nothing works for the team(and get more minutes), cause it's better to lose a game and win a game than vice versa(since Rox ain't having all that many rookies to begin with anyway). For Battier, and Gay, and any players comparison, what you want to see is their ratio first of all. Points difference(defence vs offence). If I'm scoring 30 points every game and my opponent 40, the 10 is getting -10 points from me. Then is the rebounds and also the double teams ability. And ofcourse the assists and such. And how well you block out if you're frontcourt so your big guy(Yao) can score easier. I don't know how succesful Battier is on those, but that's how he should be judged to rate his performance. Plus that there's only two games so far. you need at least 10 to start judging someone and even that isn't safe at times(like what I've heard that Tmac doesn't "take off" till February).
Yao Ming is 2nd in the league in PPG @ 29.0 ppg. He is alone at 2nd and Allen Iverson is at 35.5 ppg.
I didnt put a "just kidding" after the Gay/Battier thing Which I really was doing. You're absolutely right. If Battier averages 4 pts and 1 rebound to Gay's 30 and 15, if the 4pt guy magically (or skillfully) makes wins happen and the 30 pt guy's team is always near the bottom I'll go with the 4pt intangibles guy everytime.
That's only the first game. They haven't updated for Saturday's games yet. The Rockets really stunk against the Jazz when Battier wasn't on the court (for whatever reason). That explain that ridiculous NET differential. I wouldn't make too big a deal about it; it's just one game.
^^ here's the skip to my lou pass: http://ultrashare.net/hosting/fl/e166fb758a/ I cut it from the R2K highlight video so all credit to him. anyway rafers stat line: 14P 8R 12A 4ST 0 TO
from chron.com....... After one division game, the Rockets matched last season's final win total against Southwest Division opponents. a sign of many good things to come
