It was probably the Rowdies energy being contagious. Those mannequins that usually sit in the lower bowl couldn't inspire a fart into a fat man.
i forgot how it was spelted (AMINA? AHMINA?), but the pronunciation is AH-meen-nuh. it means defense in Greek.
That is ridiculous. Someone needs to speak with the Rockets about that because that should NEVER happen. NEVER.
Our group leader from the Rockets organization, the Promotions Coordinator wasn't there today bc of personal reasons, but I'm sure when he's back it wont be an issue. There was just a span of 10-15 minutes where we were all like, "seriously, you want us to sit down and shut up?" but then we got back into it during the end of 3rd and entire 4th quarter
It was AMINA we were chanting instead of defense, they had V-Span come on the screen and gave a little greek lesson thing. It wass actually some people in the next section over from mine doing it. I thought the Rowdies did a good job of pumping up the fans before the game and keepign them in it throughout the game. But besides the Rowdies, the whole arena was loud and racous, especially the upper level with the real fans. Having the glowsticks really helped make more noise, but maybe ThunderStix would have been louder. Plus I wore out my glowsticks before halftime, and they started leaking stuff everywhere, so I had to take someone elses. They don't get talked about a lot, but this city really does care about the Rockets and I hope we can have that kind of intensity for all of the games.
Yeah during one of the timeouts they had Spanoulis on the jumbotron teaching the crowd how to say defense in Greek - "Amina - AH-meee-nah". So that's where that came from.
Just tell them that you'll sit down when JVG tells you to sit down, since he's personally endorsing you guys.
They are basically being paid to scream. As a fan who pays for his own ticket (unfortunetly ) it almost seems worse for them to tell thos guys to shut up then to tell me. But the ironic part is they would never tell a "normal" fan to do that.
I am telling you, it looked like a college basketball game, the fans were awesome tonight, absolutely fantastic! The largest home crowd for an opening game in Rockets' history. NOW we got a homecourt advantage...
No I saw that on TV. The seats behind Mavs' announcers were basically empty during the game. Not a pretty sight, to be honest.
cant wait to go to a rockets game this year, i have tickets vs the mavs on 2/15. i should have bought tickets to this one, but the seats i wanted were sold out, and the ones that were available were just a bit too much. so i bought the one vs them in feb. i hope were good still, and they are good still. it's a thursday night, it should be a TNT game.
