WTF! My former high school is apparently going to get shot up tomorrow...

    Okay, this might be long...

Anyways, there have been 70 shootings in my town of about 35,000 this year, and many people attribute it to the Latin Kings and the Bloods moving into town. Recently, they have heated up. Apparently, yesterday, someone tipped the police off, saying there would be a shootout in the city within the next couple of days.

Well, one of the kids that got shot last week was a high school dropout. The day before, though, he went to the high school trying to re-enroll. Somehow, the principal felt like it had something to do with the gangs, and had been on edge for a while from that.

Well, yesterday, there was a fight and someone reported hearing gunshots at this little "park" across the street from the school where all the lowlifes and scum hangout at. The fight was broken up, and it was reported that 11 guns were found on kids.

Anyways, apparently, tonight, someone tipped off the police saying that there was to be a gang shootout in the school tomorrow. From what I hear, a scared gang member that attends the high school called the police and reported it. Whether it's true or not, I'm scared because my girlfriend goes to the school, and walks through this little area every day to get to one of her classes.

They say that cops will be there heavy tomorrow, and it's a halfday, but my girlfriend's petrified, and I'm scared for her. She's not going to school, and I don't think anyone else is, either.

    It's definitely not safe.

One of my teacher's husband is a cop in the city. I think I might have some questions for her tomorrow.

What I don't understand is why the cops don't patrol that area across the street. They say the school can't do anything about it because it's not their property, but the city cops can. Kids are constantly over there smoking during school and like I said, getting stabbed and getting in fights all the time.

from personal experience, cops dont do much in the really ghetto areas. i was at a really good high school, but students gets knifed and or mugged there all the time. people smoke up around the school also. i remeber i reported an assault/attempted robbery, the cops took their sweet hour to arrive. pathetic.

Apparently, there are gonna be cops at the school "all day" tomorrow. They said they'd be in this little lot, as well as in the school. Still, all day, doesn't necessarily mean all day, in my opinion.

Besides, they have a half day tomorrow, and we've already had like 4 inches of snow tonight, and are expecting a few more. The roads are clear and all, but why wouldn't they just call it a snow day?

The school itself is not ghetto - it's just that there is one part of town near the school that is kind of rough, and that's where these people generally seem to come from (that's where the majority of these shootings are happening, also). Every year, there are kids going to Ivy League schools and other places like Notre Dame and stuff, so it's not like it's just a bunch of hoodlums running around there.

I think I've said this before on here - this is the same high school that some people like Lucille Ball, Natalie Merchant, and Roger Tory Peterson went to. It's just unfortunate that scumbags everywhere can put 30,000 people (if not more) in a state of panic in a matter of about 2 minutes.

Have her give me a call. I know someone who can hook her up with combination Level III body armor and flotation device and a Kevlar balistic military helmet. Then I'll get her a big ass .50 Desert Eagle or one of the silly .454 Casull revolvers that look like they were designed for someone with 'issues' with their manhood and are designed to take down a water buffalo. Nobody will mess with her then.

Ok, maybe not, but have I mentioned that I sell guns? Feel free to send me a private message for pricing on all your firearm needs.

(Sorry, I can't pass up potential opportunity to pimp myself.)

 you don't happen to live in Gary, Indiana do you? That is a terrible ratio of violence per capita.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

    I don't understand this post....

Everything that I've said has been cited from police reports or confirmed by police officers...

I guess it's because, in my three years of high school, there were so many, many, many reports of violent acts that were going to happen on specific days and how the police were going to do this and that and it never amounted to anything other than the telephone effect and overreaction to it.

So, I tend to be skeptical. I didn't realize you were confirming everything directly with the police (and who were, for some reason, willing to confirm such rumors).

Well, the story about the fight thing was validated.

The thing about the 70 shootings was a police issued report.

And the rumors about the school thing were confirmed by a friend, who called her uncle (a policeman). He confirmed them and said he'd be at the school tomorrow, along with many others. So that one's kinda from a roundabout way. :p

But I see what you're saying.

My freshman and sophomore years at Magnolia, I took part in about 5 different bomb scares....they sort of became comical to a point towards the end...

Ahh, I miss the old high school bomb threats. You could almost set your alarm for when they would evacuate the building; one year it got to a peak of 4 in a week.

The greatest thing was that the law enforcement was obligated to come every time with bomb sniffing dogs. The whole ordeal took on average 20-30 minutes.

Of course these people would get caught every time since they started calling them in from their cell phones (this was after administrators took out the in-school pay phone for the same reasons). Idiots.

There had to be an easier way to get out of tests than that.
