The Rockets' offensive rebounding was on par with what they usually do at 21%. They got killed boxing on on defense though. The Rockets usually grab 78% of the boards on defense. They grabbed 70% vs the Jazz, which means the Jazz got more 2nd points than opponents usually do against the Rockets. Add to that the fact that the Jazz were shooting well, and their plays got them open looks too. The Jazz were quicker to loose balls and just dominated.

The problem is Chuck Hayes did the best job on Boozer in my opinion, but Van Gundy wanted a shooting 4 in there paired with Yao or Deke, and rarely let Chuck play. Perhaps when Bonzi gets back, he can help out muscle opposing 4's away from the bucket, cause Bonzi is strong enough.

I'd really like to see a lineup of Yao, Chuck/Bonzi, Battier, T-Mac, Rafer/Head. Or possibly even slide T-Mac over to the 1, Battier to the 2, and bring in Novak...of course this means they Have to play 2-3 zone...which they did at times with success against the Jazz. The Rockets regular D had such a difficult time rotating to shooters coming off of screens. Yao and Deke aren't good at getting out to perimeter shooters...so they switched to zone and played well...even though Harpring hit a 3 against the zone, T-Mac was all over him as good as a close out gets (better then their regular D was doing).

That doesn't even make sense. There is no holy grail to basketball. But just because stats don't prove who's the absolute best player, that doesn't mean we should ignore them completely. That's a fool's logic. There isn't a single team in the league that doesn't judge performance, at least in part, by what the stats say.

You're the one who's alone here.

Rockets Dynasty = Maverick (as in the noun)

You practically disagree with everything and respond in a rude way. Stats are not 'geeky' nor 'nerdy'. Stats are simply numbers on paper which show what the player had done in the game. As simple as that.

BTW, Battier is still rated quite highly in this forum, even with the 'nerdy geeky geek boy stats'.

You need to send that message to Coach K as well, because Battier was used in that capacity during the World Basketball tournament. He did it very impressively too. But what is so funny to me is that JHO took daily abuse from the fans during the offseason. The fans wanted to lynch the poor guy. He was our most reliable player last year, and in return he got torched by the fans. Now, suddenly, they all love him.

    Juwan averaged 14.6pts /game
    averaged 6.5 rbs /game
    scored over 20pts 3 times
    scored over 30pts once

Nelly was disappointed his team especially with the Dunleavy in their last game "was a disaster. He didn't rebound, he didn't score, he didn't do anything."

    Time for a trade.
