You could tell the difference in coaching by how Jazz and Rockets played.

Jazz took good shots thru motion offense, unpredictable offense, and made most of their shots.

Rockets ran same old garbage post feed and pick and roll plays that JVG always runs. The end result is that one of the open shooter, once he gets the ball with about 4 secs left on the shot clock, is under so much pressure to make the shot that he often misses.

The shot should come in motion with the offense and the players shoudnt have to think like the Rocket players do.

Jazz plays were smooth. Most of the time when their players took a shot, you could feel they were going in. Everytime a Rocket player takes a shot it looks so mechanical. Its like JVG is controlling the player with a remote control on the bench. JVG needs to let them go and just play basketball.

Ahh well..on the bright side...if this keeps going on, JVG is gonna get canned soon. I have said it over and over and I will say it again...

Rick Adelman, after Phil Jackson, is the perfect coach to utilize Yao Ming and Tmac's skillsets.

Yes, Vspan should have played tonight. Yes, our defense sucked, which is something that shouldn't happen when you have a defensive minded coach. Yes, I was kind of disappointed in the game.

BUT, it was only one game. I think we should re-evaluate Gundy at the break, and if we aren't cutting it, then he's gone.

    One game. No worries, IMO.

Hopfully we can get our **** together and pull out a win against Dallas.

That should calm everyone down.... Hopefully....

Lol. Are you Adelman's political advisor?

It's almost like he's campaigning for president...

The only time our offense was ever good under JVG was when he took himself out of the equation and let the team play a fluid style. We have players who can create shots but what do we do? We run predictable set plays that run time off the clock and force crap shots.

And if JVG is supposedly a defensive mastermind then where is the D?!?!

Don't even get me started on how he power trips all over players and wastes good bodies that could be playing.

Fact is we are probably stuck with him this year though so I sure as hell hope this game was only an aberration. We have the pieces in place JVG, LET THEM PLAY!

Only players that really showed intensity tonite were Battier n Alston. Rest of em looked like they just woke up from bed. Tmac needs to show more heart for the game. It seems like he really does not care to play and win anymore. Maybe its just the 1st game but still, every game counts from now.

JVGs player rotation sucked tonite. Rox lacked intensity and could have used more hustle players like Novak n Span. I dont think JVG was really out there tonite to win this game, so he could have atleast tried the rotation with some hustle players. Our shooting also sucked tonite and JVG could have used Novaks shooting a bit more.

I really hope Bonzi can come back soon.

Look I've never been much of a JVG fan but this is just a dumb thread to start after 1 game. Too many new players on the team. Bonzi didn't play and Vspan is not ready yet. And it's only the first game. Any attempt to evaluate him at this point is just stupid. There are legitimate reasons why the Rockets should struggle to start the season. That being said if this team isn't at least .500 at the end of the month than begone vangun.

Jeff Stubborn Gundy will not bring them back, unless they can change their style to the stubborn gundy style.

100 points scored with all the missed Js and free throws and people think the offense is why the team lost tonight?

    Relax, only the first game.
But we have to check our distribution of the ball.
Our most accurate scorer only attempted 12 shots.
We woud have a little chance at the final moment if Yao led the offence instead of shooting outside at will.
