I have my iPod filled up with music but for some reason, iTunes open up on my computer. I tried upgrading to the new version. Still didn't open. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Still won't open. I googled to see if there were any other programs you can use to put music on and take music off your iPod and came up with a bunch of them. Anyone have a favorite they use? Are there any good free ones out there?
yamipod http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/ I use it for my girls iPOD....I hate iPOD's so I have a different mp3 player
Xplay is basically a drag and drop for the Ipod. I used it for a while. http://www.mediafour.com/products/xplay/
What I dislike about itunes is that if you just listen to a song or mp3 on your cpu through itunes, it automatically adds its to your playlist / ipod. You have to hit delete after listening to it. Annoying.
If you set it to manual update, you just drag the songs you want from your library and drop them onto the little ipod icon. The tracks will stay in your cpu's itunes library. I have a lot of comedy albums and things in my itunes library that I want to be able to listen to at home, but I don't want taking up space on my iPod, so that's what I do. Edit: Unless you mean that you don't even want the song to be added to your cpu's itunes library. In that case, nothing you can do. And, I agree. That is pretty annoying. I still use winamp to listen to stuff that I don't want to add into my itunes library.
Yeah you just need a plugin. Its the best solution for those who are still stuck with Windows 98 or ME. I like ephpod though. It's real user friendly
anapod is great i hate the way itunes has to sync everytime.... with anapod you don't have to keep a copy of all your music on your computer....
