Well short interview but good to hear from the kid. Said when he is on the floor he needs to shot to contribute since Yao and T-Mac are getting double teamed. Seems confident in his game and his ability to pick up JVG's system and the NBA game. Randy from sports sunday asked him the typical stupid "rookie" questions about getting water and crap like that but Steve had good answers for everything and seems to be ready for the season. Said preseason was good and team is coming together. That's about it. Steve is another high basketball iq guy IMO
from what i can see novak is a good iq guy who can learn. his dad was his hs coach which makes a huge differnce imo when it comes to being able to learn the game. a huge bonus from the battier trade is that battier seems to be a type a guy that would coach his teammates and make them better with the stuff he knows. novak looks to be a guy who wants to learn and get his minutes. i am sure he will with that stroke of his jvg would be r****ded to not play him some minutes. he will need to learn to play defense in the post a whole lot more though. hopefully shane can help him with his position and sets
I don't think so but I talked to Morey friday night and head, wells, novak will be in the rotation (to start the season with and when Wells is ready) and most nights Hayes will as well unless we are playing a "true" center than Deke will backup at center and Hayes will get less or no min those nights.
In other words, he seems to have what it takes to be a smooth talking politician who knows how to fend off tough questions. LOL. Won't it be something to have two guys from the same pro BBall team, namely Battier and Novak of the Rockets, to run (together) for the highest office in the future? I am sure CF.net will explode.
If you like him that much then I suggest buying NBA League Pass so you can watch him wherever he gets traded.
I am definitely NOT a juwan howard fan. he bores me. I was just wondering if we were going to use one of our highest paid players who started all year last year. Seems like he will at least be in the rotation(but I'd be fine giving all of his minutes to chuck hayes)
I think Novak will see lots of playing time... the fact that we have thrown out the zone quite often during the preseason is an indication that the ROX plan on covering up some defensive shortcoming and allowing shooters on the floor.
he will be part of out platoon at center. the starters are set: yao, shane, tmac, snyder, rafer. the rotation is set: head, novak, bonzi when he comes back, and depending on the matchup, either hayes, howard, or deke.
