I for one, am glad that Mutumbo did not go into the stands. I can understand his rage, but it is always better to let common sense prevail. There have been many times in my life where I felt like beating the piss out of someone for a racial or insensitive remark, but I in the end I know that it is them who will be punished. Karma is a b****.
Haha. Out of my entire post that's the only thing you commented on? And that's the conclusion you came to? I don't know if you realized there were other words I wrote to form sentences. Reread it again buddy.
I haven't kept up with this thread so I'm not sure if somebody else posted it. If not, here it is albeit a little late: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HkhthuCmNcA"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HkhthuCmNcA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="600" height="350"></embed></object> Also is bonus footage of JVG's new movie "If Looks Could Kill."
Oh man, no footage of Mutombo actually trying to go at that guy, only him being consoled? Awwwww......
Ok, not to morph this post into something that should be in the D&D, but this is ridiculous. Black people DO call other black people n*gger! Maybe you're to young to have heard Richard Pryor, Public Enemy, etc., use that term all the time. It wasn't until the past 5-10 years that the term became *****. So saying that black people don't call other black people n*gger is a lie, I hear the term all the time in normal everyday conversation.
There was recently an gigantic thread on this topic in D&D. Basically the conclusion was that you should stay away from using the word unless you know EXACTLY how and when to use it. Surmising from your above post, you don't know what you are talking about. For example, while SOMETIMES blacks may refer to themselves in the derogatory sense simply as tool to emphasis a point (such as comedians, musicians, etc), it is RARELY used 'causually' amounst blacks. Public Enemy is perfect example of somebody using the term to emphasis a point. PE was in fact openly opposed to the word ***** and intentionlly used ****** in a harsh mannor to remind people of its ugliness ...as opposed to current rappers that simply toss in ***** in a conversational way. But yes, this is definately a DD topic so I won't respond to this again as long as it remains in GARM.
According to the San Antonio Express-News, witnesses reported the same guy who taunted Mutombo with the "monkey" epithet also used a pejorative term in reference to Yao Ming. So I guess that Orlando fan could well be a fanatic xenophobe besides being a racist -- no surprise there. I am wondering though, before the thread is heading into the CF moral cesspool, eh D&D, how Yao would react if he were greeted by a racially motivated hateful fan.
I agree with we don't want this type of fan exactly, but it would be nice if we could get this much enthusiam without the meaness
no the clue is the watermark in the lower left corner...there isnt one on that clip. that is all that was showed on the broadcast...the cameras were not on Deke until after he got upset.
