I was checking out some web sites and found Franchise pictured in a SportingNews.com article ranking guards and found him only behind Kobe in the league. It's great that he's already getting this much recognition. I'll try to get the link.
Hill blew away Francis when comparing their 2nd seasons in the league. If I remember correctly Hill was getting 20, 9.8, 7. Hill was a fantasy league monster. Looking at the rankings objectively I would agree that Francis is 2nd.
Sporting News also has that Coming Of Age thing with Francis. There has been this war of craziness about Francis' age, is he 23 or 24? Because in some websites they list him as being born in 1977 and others in 1978. For EXAMPLE, Sporting news says 1978, but nba.com says 1977..........Help plz, ?? Here's a link to Sporting News- http://mastercgi.sportingnews.com/cgi-bin/sportingnews/misc/quiz.cgi nba.com http://www.nba.com/playerfile/steve_francis/index.html?nav=page
ziggy, but francis shoot 3s. fantasy wise, if you can disregard the turnovers, francis puts in everything. he's one of those players that you dont have to ever move around. mid season, gms might trade their stars to bulk up in certain stats. he's my first pick next season.
No, Cat mainly just gives you points. Andre gives you points, rebounds, and assists. I would take Andre over Cat fantasy-wise.
Weird, those guys are nowhere to be found in my fantasies. Heidi is there, as is my wife... but for some reason the Mrs. is wearing a ref's uniform, and she won't let me get away w/ crap.
With Kidd in the east, most definitely. The question is will he beat out Payton for the starting point in the West? I think so!
On an NBA Dish-related note....... This article came out yesterday -- so you would think that these guys, number-crunching daily and all, would know that Steve Smith was traded to San Antonio for Derek Anderson. 30. Derek Anderson, Spurs, SG: Being a huge part of the Spurs offense ensures good production and possibly a 20 ppg season. Which translates in to a 6ppg season in Portland
The title of this thread should be: "Steve ranked as no.2 guard in Fantasy League!" And he also is on the cover of a video game. "It's great that he's already getting this much recognition" as a computer basketball player!!
I wasn't trying to argue that Francis should have been 1... I don't know about fantasy, but he isn't the number two guard in the league. What I did say was, He should have been considered a superstar last season. Also note I said Hill-like Numbers. And they were: Francis-20, 7, 6.5 Hill-20.2, 9.8, 7 Francis shot better from 3 and free throw line. Also had more steals.
