Bonzi will have to earn his playing time the VanGrumpy way - in practice. I would pay money to see Bonzi and Snyder go at it. Snyder could be a tough matchup for Bonzi in the paint.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but it is starting to look to me like one of the 'concessions' the team made to Bonzi in return for his ultra-cheap service this year was to excuse him from preseason. He may in fact stil be tender/sore from the groin, and he may have simply said during contract negotiations that one of the things he wanted was to be cut some slack while he was getting over it, maybe asking for the team not to pressure him about it, I don't know.. just seems that JVG's comments and attitude during the matter are a little weird.. Just a theory..
Preseason is no big deal especially for a vet. Why do you think other teams are resting their starters all the time? All you hope is you get through preseason healthy. The whole building chemisty thing is overblown cause starters aren't even playing big minutes anyways. Take your time bonzi!
if this were a big deal then more would be made of it. JVG is oddly neutral on the matter. no one else has said a word. all it means is that bonzi will be a 6th man for us. think about it, bonzi can't afford to have a character problem this season. not in a contract year after almost not being signed all summer. he needs to act right and play right to earn another contract.

Just like I mentioned in another thread, I was told that Bonzi just doesnt play preseason games, he doesnt care about them, and he feels hes ready to go. More than likely playing a couple of mins tomorrow and the last preseason game.
Does he really care? Doesnt look like he does so far. Hope he will back his words up on the court. I think JVG is holding out on him. If he doesnt perform well on the court when season start, these little things will all be remembered.

My god people are just ripping the guy apart and jumping to conclusions. JVG doesn't sound concerned at all yet people act like Bonzi did the worst thing possible.

I heard on 610 that JVG said Wells wouldn't be activated until he's practiced with the team for a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, Wells said that JVG told him he'd "definitely" play on Thursday. Something's askew.
