Now that we have seen five preseason games lets hear who the final 15 will be and what the rotation will look like a few months into the season

    C-Yao
    PF-Battier
    SF-T-Mac
    SG-Snyder
    PG-Skip

I think the rotation will be 9 so here are my 4

    Wells
    Hayes
    Billy
    Novak

Sure roster spots who will see some time depending on matchups/how guys are playing

Head (if billy is out of controll/shooting bad)
Howard (small lineup playing the five spot)
Padgett (JVG knows what he can do and Scott has looked good on the boards this preseason)

That is my 12 active for most games

    in no order 13,14,15

Mutombo (when we play against a true center he will be active and get time)
Lucus 3rd (we gave him gauranteed money he will make the team and not play)
Sura (if he gets back 100% he is a rotation player either way I say he makes the team)

    that is my final 15

    Bowan (no use for him)
    Azubuike (numbers game)
Casey Jackobson (only makes the team if Sura Retires)

We still have a 4.2 million dollar trade exeption that might or might not get used. If it does I bet Head would be included because of his age/rookie contract.

Guys this is a championship Roster and we will be going 9 deep (some nights 10) and still have quality NBA players on the bench and that is sweet!

    Starting Lineup:

    C-Yao
    PF-Battier
    SF-T-Mac
    SG-Snyder
    PG-Skip

    Reserves:

    Wells
    Howard
    Head
    Mutombo
    Padgett/Bowen depending on matchups

Hopefully Wells will move into the starting lineup soon...IMO Snyder is just a slight upgrade over Bogans we had last yr

    My prediction:

    Yao
    Battier
    Tmac
    Bonzi
    Alston

    Bench:
    Mutombo
    Jho/Hayes
    Novak/Padgett
    Snyder/Head/Jacobsen
    Span/JL3

Thats 15 players. I dont see any reason to add Ryan Bowen. Sura will retire and Azubuike will get cut.

    IR players would be Padgett,Jacobsen n JL3.

I also expect Head to atleast get 10 min of playing time at SG n PG position.

JL3 does not look like winning a spot this season.

I agree he is not one of the top 15 but they gave him a three year deal.

I'm not sure if TMac will make the final cut this year.

no way head doesn't make the regular rotation... i think vspan will be good but he hasn't earned minutes over head, yet.

it's because he is greek right?

J/K I agree at first Head will be in the regular rotation but by new years it will be V-Span.

I'm in total agreement. I think Sura is done, so Jacobsen makes the team.

I wonder if they will move Howard to a team that could use his skills and leadership or keep him at the end of the bench. He would be an expensive 12th. man for the Rockets.

I'm just baffled as to the number of people who think V-Span is going to get more playing time than Head, Howard or Hayes. I think V-Span will make the active 12, but not the rotation.

    Starters:
    PG - Alston
    SG - Snyder
    SF - McGrady
    PF - Battier
    C - Yao

Bench: (in the order I see them played)
    Wells
    Novak
    Hayes
    Head
    Howard
    Mutumbo
    V-Span

    Inactive:
    Padgett
    Lucas
    Bowen

    Cut:
    Haryazz
    Azubike (sp?)
    Jacobsen
    Sura

I just don't see how you'd have an active roster without Mutombo on it. What do you do if Yao gets in foul trouble or injured during the game? You can't really expect Hayes and Howard to play a majority of the game at center can you?

What's going on with Bonzi? I understand that he's encountered a series of minor setbacks and all, but I feel that he should have taken care of his dental problems on his own time, during the months in which he was doing nothing and under no contract. I know its only preseason, but the Rockets need somebody to contribute, not to make excuses. He a very talented player, but I think I would try to trade him for a quality power forward, someone who can make the team a better fit for a championship run (and throw in Juwan, if we're lucky).

    yao/mcgrady/alston/battier/snyder

    bench:
    wells
    hayes
    mutombo
    howard
    novak
    head
    padgett

    IR
    vspan
    JL3
    sura

right now its hard to say but jl3 has not impressed me at all he seems to turn the ball over too much too undersized to defend and looks to shoot first before doing anything else. i only kept him on there cuz of his guaranteed contract would rather have jacobsen on the IR instead

I'm still waiting for the Rockets to get back to me. Until then, I can't fill the point guard spot.
