I guess, we are having a funny situation. One of them is definitely far away from the truth. One of them has awful sources.

Mitch Lawrence from NYDN is writing, that the deal will go through. His sources say, that Les Alexander has already given his OK and that the deal will be sweetened by the conditional 1st round pick from the Knicks (based on the number of Rockets' victories, not by the number of games Rice plays, which is prohibited by the rules).

Marc Berman from Post is writing, that the deal is basically dead. His sources say, that the Knicks rejected Rockets' draft pick demands, so unless Rockets are bluffing - there will be no deal. One of the mentioned sources is Mavs' Don Nelson.

In a few hours, we will hopefully know, who is right and who is wrong.

The Post is never very reliable, and the Daily News is in agreement with the Chronicle. But who knows? This waiting is killing me!

ESPN reports now, that this time Daily News was right.
And that, no matter, what the term "future considerations" means, the Rockets have won again :)

I don't care, whether they were bluffing, or not, but I think, that CD and RT are negotiating geniuses.

If everything goes, as it seems, we might again have three 1st rounders next year (ours, Raptors' and Mavs' or Knicks'). Maybe another a'la Eddie Griffin swap? :)

PS. Just a note to all Rice non-believers: 2 years ago Anderson has come to Houston for free, so basically we have one of the league's greatest shooters for free. If he explodes - good for us, if he does not - forget it. We lost cap space, but in today's times it is extremely difficult to recruit free agents better than Calvin Booth, Evan Eschmeyer or Todd MacCulloch. Cap space practically does not matter.

    ESPN:
The Houston Rockets reportedly have taken three-time All-Star forward Glen Rice into their fold.

The Rockets had delayed their end of a three-way trade with the New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks while they reviewed Rice's medical records. Rice was bothered by a foot injury last season that limited his performance.

In a report Friday, Houston television station KRIV quoted unidentified NBA sources as saying the Knicks and Mavericks have agreed to give the Rockets additional future considerations. The sources didn't specify those considerations.

The station reported formal NBA approval of the deal is expected later Friday.
