I watch mine on a 51 inch Sony rear projection set. Good picture, but sometime in the next year or so I want to upgrade to something with a smaller profile.

42" Westinghouse LCD 1080p. Cheap, and a beautiful picture, once adjusted. It's a monitor, so you need a tuner or a cable box. I use T/W's HD-DVR box. The sound is barely OK, so you need an external sound system. Most people with something like this will have one, anyway. It cost around $1800 at Best Buy, and I got a free, no-name DVD recorder, that plays DVDs very well. Also got a $100.00 store credit. And $85 of BB reward dollars. If you add it up, the thing was damn cheap. Needless to say, I got the 3 year extended warranty from BB. That was also cheap.

edit: I smile when I walk past mine, as well. ;)

Have an XBox 360 and it works beautifully. Has an 8ms refresh rate, if I'm remembering right. Really, it's great for games. Has a PC hookup I haven't tried yet, but keep meaning to. And it was cheap!

    (did I say that?? ;) )

I really wanted to put it on our bedroom wall, but the wife says our old Sony has to die first. I'm considering "accidentally" tossing a beer or diet coke into the thing. Otherwise, it'll be the next century before I replace it! I'd like larger than a 42" in the living room, given a choice. This one looks great there, but a 50" would look better. That's what I keep telling my wife, anyway. The 42" Westinghouse is the perfect bedroom HDTV, imo.

I have a Samsung and it is a POS. It's just over a year old and now whenever I turn the piece of crap on, there's a terrible static sound and the picture is blurry and black & white. I have to turn this piece of turd on and off a few times to get it to work. And this happened one month out of warranty!

Does anyone know why my TV might be doing that and how much it would cost to fix?

I own the Westinghouse 42-inch as well.

It's not by any means an uber top-of-the-line model, and there have been annoying little quirks reported on older firmware sets. However, it's by far the best "bang for the buck" TV out there. Great value...and it's a great display. Personally, I'm very glad I bought it.
