With all the craziness and delays surrounding the SA-Rice trade, does anyone have any inside information on where Moochie stands re. his contract? We have obviously asked him to wait in the wings while "more important things" unfold. Do we have a "handshake" agreement already on the table? For what it's worth, I'm hearing nothing about Mav's efforts to recruit Moochie recently...they are targeting Tim Hardaway; Mooch will be a fallback if that fails.
I think Dallas has given up on Moochie. Besides wanting to sign Hardaway, they've signed Greg Anthony and I don't remember who else. Plus, they have a draft pick PG or two as well. Plus, they've used up their midlevel exception, so if they want to give Hardaway's money to Moochie instead (he won't sign with Dallas for the minimum), they'll have to do it via trade with Houston. We'll either say no or (if Moochie pushes it), we'll get fairly compensated for Moochie. I don't think Dallas is a danger anymore.
