Call this past week a week of mourning. That's exactly how we played. I still feel that we have an excellent chance at making the playoffs. We are currently 4 games out of the 8th seed. We have Dallas, Denver and Minnesota ahead of us right now. Denver is currently in the 8th seed. Only 4 games behind Denver. 2.5 games behind Minnesota. 1 game behind Dallas. Phoenix is in the 7th spot right now. Can they keep up their pace with a new coach? Will Penny ever not be injured? Denver is 500 right now. Hard to guage these guys. If they convince themselves that they can actually continue winning then they might be the cinderella of the West. Who knows?! Minnesota has lost 5 in a row and have only won 2 of the last 10 games. They are trying their best to get us back in the playoff picture! Dallas will fall. It's inevitable. Don Nelson is thier coach. I think it's in his contract that he will only coach lottery-bound teams. There's still a lot of European players left for him to trade away draft picks for! There is no reason to believe that our young nucleus cannot pass up at least 2 of these teams before Dream's return. Barring any major injuries again to Hakeem, we should be able to hold our ground and possibly give that 7th or 6th seed a scare. Considering my usual optimistic view of things, I find the above scenario a realistic possibility. ------------------ SpaceCity of RocketFuel [This message has been edited by SpaceCity (edited December 13, 1999).]
There is an outside chance that we might make it but it's going to take some major effort and learn how to win in part of our guys to do so........... let's hope Rudy T. can light a fire up their ass !
