While Alan Schlesinger, the Republican candidate, has absolutely no chance to win the race (because of casino problems) he destroyed Lieberman and Lamont today.

I just watched the debate on Campaign Network and he was the only candidate that had a spine and didnt give talking points like a robot. He took on Lieberman, Lamont, Bush, Jesse Jackson, everyone and he wasnt crazy or over-the-top about it, either. Lieberman came off like a self-righteous ass and Lamont looked like a pencil neck geek.

It's too bad that the only time a candidate isnt completely embarassing is when they have nothing left to lose.

It's pretty stupid when you think about. "Wow, I just totally pulled of a huge upset over an 18 year incumbent. I think I am going to completely change my strategy now." I would understand if he did this in the south, if he had to go towards the middle to win (like Harold Ford in Tennessee), but he didnt.

This moronic strategy reversal and that month long break he took off after the primary will be the reasons he loses this election.

Having said that, I never thought he was that great of a candidate to begin with. He seems nervous and frightened all the time, with his Nancy Pelosi "deer in the headlights" eyes. :p
